Pacifier

Any tips for getting toddler off pacifier? She doesn’t use it as much as she used to but it seems like when she’s sleepy or trying to self soothe she wants it but I’m trying to get her off of it completely she’s almost 2 and I don’t want it to effect her teeth or anything

My sister cut off the teat off and let her son hold the plastic part in his hands and explained no more and that worked along side the ‘donate it’ method. She just encouraged him to leave them with babies who might need it more, e.g his baby cousin, fishes in the sea (they never got littered)

I know a few people who took it when their little one got poorly, if they get a little bit of a cold and are struggling breathing out their nose it’s the perfect time to nab it. They’re fussy anyway during this time and it lasts long enough they won’t be fussed by them when they’re better again. (Ofc nobody wants their child poorly though)

I cut my toddler pacifier cold turkey when my toddler was 18 months. I talked to her that she didn’t need her pacifier and she had to throw it away in the trash can. She kept asking about the pacifier. I told her that she threw it in the trash can and it is gone. After 3-5 days of crying about the pacifier. She forgot about around day 5. I know my method seems rough. There are different methods to ween off the pacifier.

Nursery

Hey mummies and daddies, has anybody got experience with baby not getting used to nursery? My daughter started at 12 months (a month ago) and still has a meltdown every time we drop her off. How long until it settles? I worry that she’s just not happy there :(

2 months vaccination

My 2 month old baby girl just got her vaccination today and she’s been super sleepy, only sleeps then wakes up, nurses a little and whines until she falls back asleep.
How did it go for your babies? Any tips on making her comfortable? Should I be waking her more ?

My fault apparently

Basically I have a 5 year old son and I'm having a little girl in October but unfortunately I don't have my son living with me and my unborn daughter can't come home either it's because of domestic violence records cohesive behaviour physical and mental abuse from him and hes always yelling at me saying it's my fault because I was in care and I'm on methadone it's killing me inside

Night shifts

How are we doing night shifts with our partners?

My partner is back at work so I only wake him up for nappy changes (my back still kills me after c-section). I breastfeed and our little dude eats every 2-3 hours and then takes a while to settle again. I know if I passed him to my partner, it would just be another thing to wake baby up even more. And I feel bad because he’s back at work.
So I spend most of the night awake.
3 weeks PP, so my milk supply is still calibrating and bottles aren’t an option until 5 weeks or so.
I also really struggle with day time sleeping and with going to bed early, so the idea of him taking baby 7pm-1am and me doing 1am-7am would also cost me sleep.

I’m so tired, I’m absolutely losing it 😭

6 weeks sleeping short

Is 2-3h sleep still normal for 6 weeks old? I thought they'd longer stretches by now
