Hey mummies and daddies, has anybody got experience with baby not getting used to nursery? My daughter started at 12 months (a month ago) and still has a meltdown every time we drop her off. How long until it settles? I worry that she’s just not happy there :(

How many days she go? Is she settling once you’ve left? Or is she unsettled the entire time?

My nephew is the same, he has only been going a couple of months but every morning my sister takes him he cries but when picked up he is completely fine and is happy and playing in the pictures they send to her. Does your little girl seem okay when coming out? X

It took my son months to stop crying at drop off. He went 2 days a week and settled once he was in there. We've recently switched to a new nursery and back to emotional drop offs again, not full melt down but a bit teary and needing a cuddle from the workers

Hey! Please don't be disheartened it can take a while for them to settle. It's all new, even after a month. It's an adjustment and she will get used to it!
My little boy (now 3) took ages to settle initially when he started at 9-10months, now he loves going in and won't look back! My daughter has settled too, but that also took a while! She was also 9-10 months starting and is now 17 months! First morning today she toddled on in and didn't look back!
It does get easier 🥰

I think she settles once in, sometimes they send me updates but not always. She seems happy when I pick her up. Thanks girls. Have you noticed a change in behaviour during the day and night? I feel like she’s so much clingier since starting nursery and also needs much more help to sleep at night. I worry it’s fuelling her separation anxiety!

I work at a nursery and from experience some children cry at drop off even if they have been at nursery for years and love it, so try not to worry! They can often become more clingy at home during the transition of starting nursery because it's a huge change and they are getting used to being without you all day and then when they see you again at home they want to have all your attention, it will ease up as she continues to go 😊 if she's happy when you pick her up and happy when you get updates I'm sure she is absolutely fine during the day and having the best time 😊

We’re about a month into nursery (17 months old and does two days a week) and mine cries at drop offs but does 8am-5.15pm and does seem happy - although very tired- when I pick him up. It’s been difficult at home because he’s become so clingy but I think that is easing now for him. It’s such a big change. I’d give it a little more time and then see how she gets on 🥰

It took 6 months for my then 2 year old to become adjusted every drop off she would cry, every pick up she would cry from relief that I came back, but those 6 mo the tore me apart inside, sometimes she was fine a bit after I left, other times she wasn't and id go and collect her, she eventually attached herself to luckily her keyworker, she was the only one who.could tske her off me, nursery would let me know when she was on annual leave so i had the choice to bring her in or not, but shes 3 now and she begs for nursery days, I promise you if she got to distressed they would call you to collect her.

🙏
My 2 month old baby girl just got her vaccination today and she’s been super sleepy, only sleeps then wakes up, nurses a little and whines until she falls back asleep.
How did it go for your babies? Any tips on making her comfortable? Should I be waking her more ?

Can you train yourself to make more milk or do you just have a set amount?😆
I only manage to get 2 ounces each session (1 ounce from each side).
Baby is nearly 4 weeks old & I’ve been pumping since day 3 when my milk came in.
I pump very regularly (after every breast feed to top my girl up because she gets so sleepy on the boob & doesn’t get a chance to drink the fatty milk, this was causing weight issues so was advised to do this by the feeding clinic). I’ve never had the chance to build a stash because she obviously drinks it all as soon as it’s pumped. I’d love to be able to produce more, the only advice I’ve seen is to pump & feed regularly & stay hydrated which I already do x

Basically I have a 5 year old son and I'm having a little girl in October but unfortunately I don't have my son living with me and my unborn daughter can't come home either it's because of domestic violence records cohesive behaviour physical and mental abuse from him and hes always yelling at me saying it's my fault because I was in care and I'm on methadone it's killing me inside

How long is everybody else’s baby sleeping on a night time / what’s the longest stretch of sleep you get out of them?
Total curiosity, I know everybody’s baby is different :)
