I'm struggling to appreciate the little things (aside from my 1 year old's giggle and BF cuddles), and frankly want to drink myself to death - a mix of ADHD, depression and PPD has left me feeling pretty empty and numb. I really miss my old life and the freedom I took for granted. I love my son but I hate being a mum. He wakes 4+ times in the night im shattered.
Please share the things your enjoying so I can try to appreciate those things too

When my kids were little, i set intentions to enjoy the funny moments, even when it seemed like chaos. I know that’s not for everyone (like my husband who usually just stresses out).
Any positive human connection is good for you right now - if you don’t have a good support network, maybe make friends with a neighbor no matter their age.
It is sooooo tough when you are lacking sleep. If you are fortunate to be home with your son, please please please make sure to rest during the day - without a screen. Try to sleep. That will all catch up with you.
Having a child is absolutely life changing and you don’t get child-free freedom again until they’re adults and even then you’re still their mama. Pick something that brings you joy that your non-negotiable on and let your BF know you NEED, even if he has to contribute more to allow you to do that. Hang in there mama!
Thats the thing. I have a great support network, my partner is amazing at giving me space to have baby free me time and I have a couple of friends in the area, but with all that i'm finding it hard not to think 'why did I have a baby? why did I decide to put myself through this' - i know sleep deprivation has been used as a torture technique and thats not spoken about enough. Its bloody hard.
In terms of things I want to do that am limited/refrained from - like, everything ha. I used to cross stitch from 9am-9pm when I wasnt working and i'm angry I cant do that now but realistically I know I can't.
I am home with son for now, and I actually have a handful of opportunities during the day where I can crochet or do whatever but because i'm burnt out, I just sit there. Good old ADHD task paralysis.
I'm trying to find a job at the moment to work full time again because I think that will help - having a different purpose that is separate from being a mum, an hour lunch break where I can decide what I want to do

I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this 🥺🤍 I think when you’re running on broken sleep and dealing with PPD/ADHD, it’s really hard to force yourself to appreciate the little things — you’re exhausted, not ungrateful.
Some little things I’ve seen mums enjoy are having a hot coffee while it’s actually hot, getting outside for a little walk, watching a comfort show while baby naps, nice showers, your favourite snacks, fresh bedding and having 10 minutes completely to yourself. Even tiny things count 😂🤍
And please tell your BF how bad things are, especially the drinking yourself to death part. You deserve support with this, not to have to push through it alone. ❤️
We love a little sexy talk but sometimes it can kill the mood. If you and your husband/partner were about to get it on and he calls himself a “wild stallion” is that a turn on or off?

Anyone else feel like they are barely holding it all together??? I just want to scream. How do we work full time (to be honest- more than full time while people gaslight and say we should be able to get it all done within the workday), keep house, and have time to be a mama? I just want to stay home and be a mama, but that is not at all financially possible so how do I manage it all? Does anyone know of any jobs that pay around 75K (yes- willing to take a slight pay cut if needed although finances are tight) that is part time, work from home, or simply clock in clock out? My milk supply is declining because of stress and my mental health is rapidly declining.
For context- I’m in special education administration.
Yes- my husband helps a lot.

I’m curious how easy/difficult it is for you all to focus on intimacy while pregnant. It’s been harder for me.
I adore my husband, it’s just awkward being kicked in the stomach by something so fragile and cute while I’m feeling frisky. 😂

I’ve brought it up multiple times over the years because we have trouble communicating sometimes and have been arguing 24/7 and I can’t keep doing that. He said he doesn’t believe in therapy and he’s not gonna go to someone. I’ve found therapist in our insurance and sent him some before and said we can choose one we like together but he still refuses and nothing is getting better. What do I do
