Hi everyone please could I get some advice? My maternity leave is due to finish soon, I’m due to go back at the start of October. I did put a flexible working request in to which they responded to me doing 16 hours a week (X2 8 hour shifts) I told them I’m breastfeeding and may need to express milk every 3/4 hours depending on my needs.. I got a email back today stating this “Regarding your request to have time after four hours for expressing milk for your baby, you already have a 30-minute break during your shift. You may use this break period for expressing. After your break, you will continue and complete your shift as normal. A full shift is typically eight hours, with occasional adjustments only when required due to operational needs”.. I’m left feeling abit uneasy just incase I’m needing to pump before my break.. and my break schedule isn’t always at the same time? I’m not sure what to do. Are they any laws in place? Or what else could I ask them to adjust? They haven’t stated where I could express milk too.. I work in a restaurant😭

There's no laws in place but the gov guidance says you need to be given a safe and clean place to pump.
I would personally get in touch with ACAS and ask them for advice, or your union if you're in one. They'll be able to advise you on what else you can request that is within govt guidelines

Are you pumping for relief or to feed it for your baby? The elvie stride 2 is very discrete and quiet and might be an option to work and wear it and empty on a toilet break.
Everyone is different in terms of when they need to pump but if your baby is over 6 months I think a lot of people can go 4 hours without pumping so hopefully it will be ok 💕
Has anybody else not only had postnatal depression, but thought they would get it even before giving birth?
I’m 36 weeks pregnant at the moment and with this pregnancy and my first one I’ve had a lot of mental instability I’ve had anxiety attacks, panic attacks, feelings that I don’t deserve to have a baby after we had a termination five years ago, I have intrusive thoughts, nightmares at night about hurting the baby, dropping the baby and comments from my partner that he doesn’t want the baby that I forced him into having our second.
I just feel like because he hasn’t been interested in this pregnancy he’s done literally nothing to help me and we do have a bit of a rocky relationship. I already feel so overwhelmed and ignored and stressed and depressed and I’m just getting into my head now that I won’t be able to connect with this new baby all this experience it just made me think it was a mistake and we haven’t done the right thing. I want this baby more than anything a little boy after we’ve had a girl I just feel myself spiralling into this hole and yeah, I’ve got good support around me and I’ve got friends and family that live close but I just feel like this baby is gonna arrive and I’m just gonna feel so down and disconnected and I won’t be able to be a good mum I feel like I’ve just checked out mentally at the moment. And I feel really guilty knowing this baby will be here in a few weeks.

What the fuck is that.
Looks like no seat belt, just some bar thing, and a kid that’s small enough to be rear facing in a forward only car seat?? Someone tell me there’s more to this and it’s not as crazy as it looks

Just wondering if most September babies are walking. We’re on holiday and so many people have commented on my just turned 1 year old walking, which I didn’t expect, I thought 12 months was average age for walking, his older brother walked at pretty much exactly 12 months too

What is everyone's after school routine?
My son has started reception (he's 4). We get home at about 3:30 which for me is basically morning 😂 when he was in nursery he would come home at 6 so it was easy - dinner then bed.
I've been letting him watch a bit of TV but I don't really want him watching TV all afternoon. That's what we did as kids 😂

Looking for some advice/reassurance from other mums who’ve survived the 4-month sleep regression 😭🫠
My little girl is 4 months old and we’re about 3 weeks into it now. Before this she was a really good sleeper, but suddenly she’s waking pretty much EVERY SINGLE HOUR through the night.
Last night was probably our worst night yet and she was awake for what felt like pretty much the entire night. 😭 She manages to sleep absolutely fine during the day and has decent naps, but nighttime is horrendous.
We’ve got a really solid bedtime routine that we’ve done consistently for a while now, and she goes down well initially for a few hours at 7pm. But then she’ll wake, I’ll settle her/replace her dummy, she’ll go back off and then we’re doing the same thing again shortly afterwards.
My partner works away, so during the week I’m doing the nights completely on my own and can’t split the load or catch up while someone else takes over. I’m absolutely exhausted at this point and starting to wonder if there’s anything else I can actually do.
How long did the 4-month regression last for your babies? Did anything genuinely help? Did you change naps/bedtime, start any kind of sleep training, ditch the dummy etc., or is it genuinely just something you have to ride out?
Any advice from other mums who’ve been through it would be massively appreciate

How many bottles is your baby having in a 24 hour period and how many ounces?
My babies formula tin said he would only need 4 6oz bottles a day for his weight but he has a lot more!
