Baby contact naps so well & sleeps of a night time well contact sleep wise - next to me crib an hour if that I think maybe we’ve had 3 hours once when he was like 3 weeks.
What can we do to make him sleep in his bed that long he’s 7 weeks 4 days so slap bang in the middle of his growth spurt - feeding loads, initially refusing sleep but now appears more sleepy & is quite grumpy but I think we’re turning a corner with it.
So far I’ve worn his bedsheet, red light, noise machine, he sleeps next to husband side, warmed his sheet…

My baby is 7 weeks 4 days today as well and it’s as if I’ve written this myself! Hoping people have tips! We aren’t struggling so much at night time though he does sleep in his next to me all night waking every 2-3 hours, it’s day time I’m struggling to get him to nap in his own! I’ve resorted to a baby wrap and just wear him in the day lol.
I’m trying a new method called ‘moms on call’ to hopefully get him sleeping longer at nights, might be worth looking into?

My little boy isn’t the best sleeper. When he was in the NICU the nurses gave me ‘contact cubes’ to be with him. They’re basically very small breathable knitted cubes that you wear against yourself for however long you want and then when they go to sleep the contact cubes goes flat in the crib next to them so that they can smell you. This helped a lot!

Ok this might help - as my daughter (now 3.5years) slept like crap until I realised she was just cold!! What is your room temperature and what is he wearing for night sleep? Some of the sleeping guides for babies are very cautious because of the risk of over-heating but some babies just run colder and need more warmth or they wake up constantly. Even now my daughter sleeps great over summer (even in heat waves) and wakes a lot in the winter because our house is very cold. Perhaps try adding a layer or use a thicker sleeping bag? Xx
I’m due to return to work from maternity leave in January 2027 and I’m DREADING IT, he’ll be 1. I just feel so bad for him, I have such a clingy baby and I think he’s going to think I’ve abandoned him 😠we co-sleep, is exclusively breastfed (won’t take a bottle / dummy but will sometimes have small amounts of pumped milk in a cup with straw) and I’m the only one who can put him down for naps (fed to sleep) and then I roll away. Not even his dad can put him to sleep (he falls asleep with rocking but wakes the moment he touched the mattress when transferred).
I’ve never spent more than 2 hours away from him (2-3 times). We don’t have any family or friends who can look after the baby to even practice him being away from us.
In an ideal world I would wait for him to go to nursery when he is able to talk and understand that I’m not leaving him forever and I’ll be coming back, the thought of it breaks me!
I’m already struggling with mental health (post natal depression and anxiety). I’m considering taking a career break (if my work will let me), or staying off sick for a few months or paying back my enhanced maternity pay (£9000) and leaving the company! Money will be very tight but this could work for around 6 months.
I don’t know what to do, any suggestions or experience would be appreciated!
Thanks xxx

I will have exclusively fed my 3 month old breastmilk in 2 weeks time and I think for my mental health I want to combo feed. Does anyone have any tips on this? I currently pump 7 times within 24 hours and would like to reduce that so I can live without having to pump every 3 hours. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Xxx

I'm trying to not go longer than 3 hours inbetween breastfeeds as my baby is not back to birthweight and my boobs are feeling quite engorged.
I'm having such a hard time waking my baby up for feeds and everything I'm reading online is about newborns feeding constantly, mine feels like the opposite?
I've tried changing, stripping down, cold water on belly, ticking feet, blowing, placing on a cold changing mat, talking, moving. It's taking me around 20 minutes to wake.
Surely this isn't normal. I'm worried I won't even make it to 8 feeds today.

My mom died a month ago. She was a huge part of my life, and was there for me every time I needed her without question. She died unexpectedly from a stroke, and since then I feel like I'm in a life I don't recognize.
I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I see a life without the person who loved me most. And now my kids get this shell of a person as their mom. I feel no joy, i cry and I'm angry. The kind of mom no one really cries over. Nothing like my own.
If you've been through this please tell me it gets easier. That one day you wake up not wanting to just go back to sleep.

Is it bad to leave your 2 year old in her cot till she falls asleep? She's laughing and happy but doesnt fall asleep straight away.
