Did you/will you take your 2 year old out of nursery when your second baby arrived?

There’s 2 years between my children - I still sent my daughter to nursery her normal 2 days a week whilst I was on mat leave with my son. X

I'm still going to send my 4 year old to nursery when our baby arrives in November. It will just keep him in routine and get him ready for school xx

I work in childcare and parents often keep their children at nursery even when the new siblings arrive. It continues to help with the social development. Also it can be a lot trying to take care of a newborn and a sibling so completely dependent on you but I want you to know its not unusual for this to happen

I reduced nursery down to 3 days a week whilst i had support over first 6 weeks
Then my 3 yo was in nursery 5 days a week for a year. Then once he turned 4 i reduced him down to 4 days a week again. (Was so guilty about that, but it worked out great!)

I'm due May 2027 and I'll be taking my daughter out of nursery in June/July, obviously she'll then start school in September so it's like the 6w holiday.

If this wasn't the case, we'd be keeping her in nursery for the routine, don't feel bad!

I am due the same time as you, and I plan to keep my 2yr old in childcare because I think it'll be good for the new baby and myself
