Please tell me if I’m alone in this.

My mom died 6 months ago. Ever since she passed away I’ve noticed I have become a different mom. I am not as hands on, or patient. To be honest with you it is rare I am fully enjoying my daughter these days. She is SO WHINY. like it never stops. And she is so needy(obviously… she’s a little girl. I know) but I just have NO patience anymore.

What is wrong with me? Is it her age? Is it because my mom just died and I’m broken? Is it me?? Anyone else going through this?

You are grieving. Please don't be hard on yourself. It's ok to feel sad, upset, short on patience. I think with kids we feel we can't grieve properly. Maybe you need a little break ? Could you take a couple of days (or more) to breathe and have no responsibility?

Not only are you outwardly grieving because of the passing of your mom. Your daughter is also seeing her mommy hurting and perhaps she could be hurting and unable to voice her own feelings. Im wishing you support during this transitional period of your lives. If you feel inclined, you can look into support groups to help with this new faze. ❤️
