Naps

What are your naps looking like at the moment?

She’s fighting every single nap and I feel like maybe I’ve got the timing off or should be getting her to push through tiredness. Feeling a bit clueless atm

Her fighting naps is delaying everything so it’s leading to her bedtime edging later and later

My baby naps are quite random, but I always wait for cues. If I see that he’s tired, he doesn’t fight it, and I use a baby sling to put him asleep. If I don’t use a sling it’s really hard for me because of its weight. The slight tho helps him staying still and I don’t have to keep adjusting my grip! Works like a charm

Morning nap is getting easier, afternoon is a fight but honestly I’ve found if she fights it, I put her down, wait 10 minutes and try again and I repeat like 3 times. If that doesn’t work it’s 6.30 pm bedtime 🤣🤣 I refuse to let myself get stressed out anymore and makes nap times a lot easier x

Awake 6-6:45, first nap 9:30 (capped to 45min), second nap 1 (1-1.5 hours), asleep by 7

We try to follow rough wake windows of 3/3.5/4, at the moment this is usually working out as a morning nap from approx 9.30-11 then afternoon nap 2.30- 3.30 then bed by 7.30. Can very tho e.g. today she woke up after 45 mins in the morning so ended up having her longer nap in the afternoon (still only an hour tho 🫠 so will do bed a bit earlier)

Today we are running on no naps as i believe she has fomo over some noise brothers

Our baby wakes up between 5:30-6:30 and will go down for a nap at 8:45-9:30 then wakes up about 10:30-11. Second nap is usually between 1:30-2 and wakes up at 3ish. Bedtime at 6:30/7 but this change daily. Doesn’t usually fight his naps but have had occasions where he just refuses and has no afternoon nap at all 🫠🤣xx

My baby’s sleep has been horrendous last few weeks, resists second nap, then sleeps for ages, then is awake half the night. Total nightmare. I’ve just decided to drop the second nap because the first nap has started being 2+ hours, she seems much happier for it. she gets a little tired around 3pm but we just have a chill on the sofa and then she perks back up again

No sets times. I hope that she'll have a morning nap at 11.30 that's capped at 30-45 mins, but if it's later and more like 12 I wake her up pretty soon after as she had to nap at 2 for my eldests to nap! So if she didn't reallyget much of a morning nap she cab occasionally fall asleep in the carrier while I'm making dinner too!

Roughly first nap between 9-9.30 and second nap between 2-2.30 and bedtime between 6.45-7.30. she's at nursery for 2 full days so that messes with the schedule a bit

Comfy bras?

Is anyone else still wearing nursing bras even after they’ve stopped nursing because it’s just comfortable?? Because hi 🙋‍♀️. I would like nothing more than to retire them as war heroes but what are we all wearing as alternatives? Does anyone have recommendation for comfy supportive cute bras? ‘Cause the girls do be needing more support after 9 months of nursing. I was looking at the Knix no underwire ones.

Ftm 31 weeks pregnant advice please 🫶🏻

I’m so excited and trying to get organised but not sure if I’m rushing. All advice welcome❤️

1. I’m having an elective c section what after care bits were actually helpful? Are the silicone patches worth it when did you start using and what brand is best? Was a peri bottle still necessary for cleaning the downstairs area or not?

2. Maternity bras. What ones would you recommend and also when did you get them I was thinking of getting them pretty soon but also not sure if they’ll fit by the time I need them or did you just size up or waited till closer to the time?

3. When did you start washing baby clothes and packing hospital bag? I pretty much have everything we need already so I could pack now I just don’t know if I should wait. Same with washing babies clothes etc I plan on washing all newborn and 0-3 months initially then bigger sizes closer to when she’ll actually need them but I still have 8 weeks how early did you start washing clothes and organising drawers etc?

Help!

My daughter was a late walker at nearly 20 months but this one is determined to climb, cruise, move at not even 9 months. Any tips on helping him move around safely when I’ve got him and his sister (3) to watch?

Bassinet to pram seat?

When did you make the change? Nearly 4 months old and naps in her pram, she woke up today and decided to roll over in the bassinet 😂 Is it time to put the chair on? :(( she’s probably more than ready, I however, am not 😭

Pram inserts for newborns

My mum has recently found a free pram that’s she’s brought home for us, it’s a bugaboo chameleon 3, with an L shaped bucket seat, but it also reclines back fully (will include pictures). There’s some parts missing, we’ll need to get more straps for it. As the seat fully reclines, I’m guessing there’s some sort of seat you can put it in for babies that need to lie at an 180 angle. I really need help finding a seat, I have no idea what to look for or any of the pram terminology. I’m hoping to get something to put in it for a newborn before thinking about buying a whole other pram well only use for 5 months. Any advice appreciated

Crib/bassinet transfers

Everytime my first attempt at crib transfer fails, the second attempt always fails too. I then finish it as a contact nap. Only if I get it right in first attempt does the baby continue with the nap in the crib. After how many minutes do you re-attempt if it fails once? Any tips / suggestions on what I could do differently?
