Ideas with how to keep my baby on her back for nappy changes

Hey all!

My girl is nearly 7 months and for little while she has been a nightmare to change her nappies and clothes 🫣😂
All she wants to do is roll onto her front and try crawl off the mat!

I used to be able to distract her by singing and dancing - but now I can’t find anything to distract her and I’m chasing her around her changing mat 😂 and trying to change her backwards lol

I know it’s normal for most babies to go through these stages, just wondered if anyone has found anything that has helped.?

Sometimes giving my lo something to hold distracts him.

Use pants, one hand through each hole, grab both feet at the same time (with the nappy on your wrists), pull up as far as you can (above knees), show her something on her side so she rolls on her tummy, pull over her bum!

A toy that makes a noise, an old TV remote or a packet of wipes usually does the trick

Soon as my little boy was on the boy he was in pull ups and it was a life saver

I moved to pull ups as I had the same problem little one is 8 months

Only way I can get my little boy to stay still as a last resort it to put the video to his favourite song (you'll be in my heart from Tarzan) on the tv and all of a sudden its like he has a pause button and stays so still 🥹😅🥰

I just give toys to hold. Preferable something noisy or lights up
And switch to pull ups

Comfy bras?

Is anyone else still wearing nursing bras even after they’ve stopped nursing because it’s just comfortable?? Because hi 🙋‍♀️. I would like nothing more than to retire them as war heroes but what are we all wearing as alternatives? Does anyone have recommendation for comfy supportive cute bras? ‘Cause the girls do be needing more support after 9 months of nursing. I was looking at the Knix no underwire ones.

Bassinet to pram seat?

When did you make the change? Nearly 4 months old and naps in her pram, she woke up today and decided to roll over in the bassinet 😂 Is it time to put the chair on? :(( she’s probably more than ready, I however, am not 😭

Pram inserts for newborns

My mum has recently found a free pram that’s she’s brought home for us, it’s a bugaboo chameleon 3, with an L shaped bucket seat, but it also reclines back fully (will include pictures). There’s some parts missing, we’ll need to get more straps for it. As the seat fully reclines, I’m guessing there’s some sort of seat you can put it in for babies that need to lie at an 180 angle. I really need help finding a seat, I have no idea what to look for or any of the pram terminology. I’m hoping to get something to put in it for a newborn before thinking about buying a whole other pram well only use for 5 months. Any advice appreciated

Crib/bassinet transfers

Everytime my first attempt at crib transfer fails, the second attempt always fails too. I then finish it as a contact nap. Only if I get it right in first attempt does the baby continue with the nap in the crib. After how many minutes do you re-attempt if it fails once? Any tips / suggestions on what I could do differently?

Weaning

Is weaning at 24 weeks a good idea?
He gives all signs of readiness so I though that giving that he’s breastfeeding really often ( every 2 hours day and night ) this might fill him up better? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Colostrum

Hi,

Have started trying to harvest colostrum because I have gestational diabetes and am due soon and apparently it’s really beneficial for GD babies. At the moment I can only get the tiniest amount that you can’t even really see in the syringe. I am just using my hands at the moment. Would pumping help better or does anyone have any other tips on how to express more?
