Betrayed and Alone

I’m posting anonymously because I feel embarrassed and alone, and I could really use some support from other moms.

I thought I was in a relationship with someone who was only dating me. Then another woman reached out, and I learned he had been involved with her too. They’re no longer together, but I still can’t move past the betrayal.

He asked me to move in with him several times. I tried, but I kept leaving because I never felt emotionally safe with him. Now I’m pregnant, and he still wants to see me and have sex with me, but he hasn’t come to any appointments or really acknowledged our baby.

He says he’s upset that I spoke to the other woman and that I mentioned moving to another state with the baby, where I’d have support. I’m alone where I live now, and I was trying to think about how I could manage.

I feel awful. I keep thinking that if I hadn’t gotten back together with him, I wouldn’t be pregnant and facing this alone. Has anyone else dealt with betrayal during pregnancy? How did you get through it?

Move to where you have support. It's more bearable that way and you are not entirely alone.
Unless he starts showing he'll be there to help and actually make efforts, not only if he wants to have sex, then it's not worth relying on him at this point.
You can always review that later in the future.

Sorry you are having to go through this.

Yeah I was married and 6 months pregnant with our second and his baby mama who had his first child called me to tell me that him and her were having an affair for years and they had a secret baby. My son was born Feb 2015, her son July 2015 and my daughter May 2016. What I felt that day was the most surreal disorienting day of my life. I unfortunately though stayed for another 2 years before I finally had the strength to kick him out. But that was the best choice! So I would recommend to you- move to where you have support. You are gonna need it! 🫶🏻

Honestly, go and move to where you have reliable support. I think it’s best not to father than a father who shows little effort towards the baby or your it only gets harder after a baby is in the picture. Look after yourself and the baby. He is not mad you spoke to the woman, he is mad it was exposed. It’s hard for you to see it right now because you are in it, but once you let some time pass and your feelings will pass you will see you made the right decision and be happy you did. I hope this helps 🤗

Move before the baby is born because once the baby is here it gets much more complicated. I'm so sorry this happened but he'll never be the man or dad you both deserve and you said it yourself "he comes over for sex" and "he's never been emotionally safe".

You can do this alone mumma we don't need deadbeat dads.

You got this 💜

My manager text me whilst I was on holiday and now I'm worried. Can I go away during maternity leave?

I'm from the UK. I was on full pay for 30 weeks and now on SMP.

MIL & partner issues

So we’re in the middle of building an annex in the garden for my mil. I’m not really keen on the idea since we don’t have a loving joyful relationship. But I knew if I didn’t go along with it my partner would have resented me a little and we’ve already really struggled in our relationship. Plus I’ve just had a baby with a toddler at home and not in the space to deal with any of it. He’s just told me that if at any point in the future I decide it’s not working he would stay with his mum. And he was dead serious 🧐 THOUGHTS?
