Early gender scan or wait until 20 weeks?
We were initially planning to wait and find out the gender at the 20 week NHS scan. However, family members who had kids before suggested going privately because the 20 week scan can be intense with a lot to check, and to them it felt more like a medical procedure than a special moment. I'm really torn now, we will be most likely one and done so I don't want to have regrets!

I couldnt wait til my 20 week scan! We did our gender scan at 15 weeks and we loved it! We bought our parents/siblings cupcakes to announce the gender after! Finding out without the stress of everything else being checked is nice and I would fully recommend! (Also possibly one and done)
As for actual scan my boy was clear at 14 weeks!
We did a private gender scan at 17 weeks - really enjoyed it and definitely worth it rather than waiting for the 20 week scan! It’s a long wait between 12 and 20 weeks so it was lovely to see our little one between then and find out his gender.
I agree the 20 weeks one is more medical so nice to already know the gender in a more relaxed setting.
I’ve had early gender scans in both pregnancies (this one i had 2 to double check she stayed a girl😆)
And it’s definitely a more special moment than the 20 week NHS scan.
The anomaly scan is purely medical, it is up to an hour long and sometimes baby doesn’t cooperate, making it difficult to get the right measurements. The last thing the Sonographer cares about is a gender reveal because it is a medical procedure, it’s not a gender reveal. I’d definitely recommend booking one in☺️
I waited until the 20 week scan with our first & went private with this little one. Both were very exciting but the private one was definitely more personal and special x

Constant contractions but no dilation progress
Im so miserable....
Im 38+4 and have had constant contractions since Wednesday evening , so about 45 hours now but im still only 2 cm dilated. I actually have a very high pain tolerance as I have multipul conditions that cause pain so basically have to be able to function through pain daily. But this has been horrendous
I went into MAC really early hours of thursday morning because my contractions were every 3 mins and really painful. But after monitoring and checking, only 2cm they sent me home. Contractions carried on getting icreasing painful they dying off so they were not just as strong for a little while before ramping up again.
Saw my regular midwife on friday, who checked again. Still 2 cm but she managed to do a sweep.
Everything continued contractions wise. Paracetamol wasn't touching the pain at all. Then got back to every 4 mins but so painful I couldn't talk through them. So again back to hospital, they did checks still 2cm. Stayed 10 hours! And again still 2cm. Im loosing alot of mucus but cervics just isn't changing.
So I was discharged with codeine and the plan that I'll be on the induction list by monday if baby still hasn't arrived.
Im absolutely fucking miserable now. Before all this I'd had 3 weeks of braxton hicks like clockwork every evening lasting about 5 hours a day.
When I had my daughter 4 years ago Everything just progressed fairly quickly and I was only in labour just under 30 hours start to finish with only a small amount of gas and air. Everything is so stop start its exhausting. My back pain is just chronic and nothing is touching it at all. I really didn't want a induction but physically and mentally im abousutly broken now....
My daughter only knows mummy's feeling poorly, and insisted on giving me her lovey heart on Wednesday, since tgen shes insisted I keep it in my hand if I put it down even just to eat and she sees she walks over and puts it back in my hand. She got very upset having to leave me today when I went to hospital and I offered her it back to hold she insisted I keep it in my hand. 😭

Seeking reassurance - pregnant after c-section
Hello,
I think i'm pregnant. I have missed a period and a faint line on pregnancy test. I'm going to take another test and get an early scan etc to be sure.
The issue is that I am 7months post c-section. This was not planned and I feel so bad. If i am pregnant, i dont want to lose this baby and i'm so terrified of the risks involved with getting pregnant so soon after c-section.
Is there anyone who can share a positive story where they got pregnant after c-section and all was ok? I'm so scared. 😢

Bleeding postpartum
6 days pp now and still bleeding quite heavily. I had an elective C-section on Monday. I'm not sure if it's because it's my second time.. last time I only bled for a couple of days. When did your bleeding stop?
