There's not much a midwife can say or do at this point. You'll either get an infection or you won't, and you can treat if any symptoms if this shows. Also, you're very fertile after birth so absolutley there's a chance of pregnancy if you did not use protection. As you won't know when your period is due as you've only just given birth, I would take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks and test weekly until your period came x

I had sex before the 6 weeks with my first baby and didn’t get and I didn’t get an infection and I had sex a lot if that makes you feel better
