i think i resent my husband

it feels like this entire pregnancy he’s been pushing every boundary i’ve asked for. when i first found out i was pregnant initially i said no telling anyone until 12weeks. but i was so sick so my parents who live near us would come drop off food regularly so they found out i was pregnant around 6 weeks bc i was hospitalized. i asked him to wait to tell his parents until after first trimester though bc of risk of MC and i don’t really have a relationship with them and so was really anxious. he kept fighting me about that but ended up not telling them.

then a few months ago he insisted they be present for the birth even though i asked for a few weeks to recover. that was another huge fight because he said they’re also grandparents they should be here when the baby’s born. i tried explaining there are very few people i want around me when im bleeding and leaking everywhere but he kept saying it’s not fair they’re grandparents too even when i tried to explain its not about the baby it’s about ME.

Ive tried compromising ive tried saying ok they can come but they need to stay in a hotel but its apparently disrespectful to ask his mom to stay elsewhere and he keeps going back to “fair”. Is it fair i had severe hospitalization nausea for 16 weeks? Is it fair i cant sleep bc i get up to pee 6x a night? I’m the one growing the child I have to recover while learning to breastfeed (something HE wants, id happily do formula) and learning to keep a tiny human alive.

I’m 1 month from delivering and we keep having these fights. I said ok let me see how i’m feeling post birth then we can decide when his parents come (how long they need to wait) but even that’s not okay. It’s like if i don’t decide right now we won’t see them for 4-5 months bc they don’t want to travel in the cold and I feel like that decision is being blamed on me.

You have every right to resent him. He is advocating for his family diminishing your needs as a birthing and new mother of his child. He is acting like a jerk and at this point I would also set a boundary with him. I mean, how can you trust to be so vulnerable during child birth with someone that doesn't even try to protect you ?
I'm so sorry. You deserve better than these people

Like I do understand the wanting to tell his parents since yours found out. That part I would say is kinda unfair. But I’m also in a position of my first time I had a partner and this time I don’t. And this time I didn’t want anyone to know.
So I do understand where you are coming from.

He does need to be a bit more considerate of what you’ll be going through post birth. But also feel he might be pushing harder for this because he had to wait to tell he’s parents. I’m sure he’s super excited about it.

Men just don’t understand the process because they can’t go through it.

Just discuss making sure his parents get the vaccines they need to get to be around a newborn. And make it a rule that both sets of grandparents aren’t around Bub for the first 3-4 weeks. That way it’s fair on both sides and gives you time to adjust to your new world with Bub in the picture. Then before the dates hit, have a discussion with your husband to make sure you are both ready.

Just what I would do 😊

He should respect your boundaries you have set. But is understandable how it can be unfair on his parents aswell because they want to be equally involved i had problems around making sure i include both sides equally with every scan. With me though i live with my inlaws so they are going to see all the ugly and theres nothing i can do about it. They want to help as much as possible.

The only thing I agreed with was them staying in a hotel when they came to visit. Presumably your parents did the same? And also waited two weeks?
I can understand him telling his parents when you were hospitalised. I’m sure he was very worried and concerned and needed the support. Would have been a bit different if he put a fb announcement and was telling everyone.
Also making them wait two weeks to visit. With mine I was asked to visit the drs surgery the second day. I still needed to do food shopping and the school run ect with my second.

Listen, you’re about to have your legs WIDE open, pushing a little human out of you, vag just hanging all out. If YOU, the new-human-pusher, don’t want to be exposed ….you just don’t want to be exposed. There is zero conversation after that.

Then the risk of having ANYONE around a newborn that doesn’t even have an immune system yet??? Are we the crazy ones? I am confusion.

The answer is no.

Until a man can actually shoot a human down his youknowwhat, don’t talk to me about who can see or be around my child. That’s not being selfish for you; you’re being selfish for you all’s newborn angel.

Again, no more conversation.

Looking for friends🤍

Looking for my girlie tribe 🥹🩷 I’m 32 and have an 8 yr old son! I’d love some genuine mom friends to just do life with! Whether we’re close enough for brunch, coffee dates, shopping, girls nights & play dates with the kiddos OR we live 2,000 miles apart and just text and send each other reels all day 😂😭

What's better

It's it better to have health insurance or go without in the USA? Trying to decide if I should get insurance next year or keep going without it. I've had insurance before and want another honest opinion.

Struggling to have sex..

I’m currently 18+4 weeks pregnant and my partner and I have only had sex 3 times since finding out I’m pregnant.
Before we started trying for the baby, we had such a good sex life. However since being pregnant, my mind and body wants two different things. I crave sex and I’m having dreams and all sorts but when it comes to it.. I’m just so dry.. nothing turns me on, even the things that always work. I just wondered if this is normal? He thinks I’m not wanting it but I generally do, my body is just saying something different.
Any advice is welcome!
