Doula or learn online?

Has anyone considered having a doula to support their birth? Or has there been any classes you’ve attended or things you may have watched and practiced that has made/is making you more confident about giving birth.
I’m trying to decide whether to go with one, it’s quite expensive and the downside of that my mum would no longer be allowed in the birth suite as can only have 2 birth partners. The positive side is that she knows what’s she’s doing and was recommended by someone I know.

We just did the usual NHS antenatal classes, gave us the tools we needed, also did an online hypnobirthing course. Personally don’t think a doula would’ve added to my experience so it’s a bit of a “you know you best” as to whether you think it would be beneficial x

It depends on what youre trying to achieve. If youre happy to go with whatever the midwives recommend and possibly not have continuity of care then youll be fine. I had a homebirth and honestly dont think it would have been possible without my doula

hi 👋 I was thinking to get it but then we couldn't afford it so I just went with my reaserch and some online courses about home birth so I did and it was amazing 🤩 If I have a choice I would hire a personal chef for few days lol 😂

I personally did this onebut there are few more reserches i did even after taking this one, things like Hey! Just wanted to share, I did a bit more research in my free time on something called lotus birth. It’s basically where you don’t cut the umbilical cord at all after delivery, and you leave the placenta attached until the cord naturally separates on its own. Thought it was really interesting

C-section question.

How soon did people drive after c-section?

I know the advice is 6 weeks but did anyone go sooner?

Growth scan!

We went for a growth scan today as my bump was measuring smaller(currently 37 weeks) , however, they’ve said she looks to be growing really well and currently weighs 7lb 4 which is apparently slightly above average! Would this be 100% right? Or has anyone been told that their babies weight is one thing on a growth scan and completely different when they’re born? It’s our first baby so have no idea🩷

How long did you stay in hospital after a c-section?

My second baby is breech at 37 weeks, my first was a vaginal birth.
How long did you ladies stay at home after your c-section? I want to have the time to recover, but I don't want to be away from my daughter for any longer than I have to.

Wet underwear - what could it be?

Hiya!

I am pregnant with my first so these might just be stupid questions but I’d feel better just asking especially when there are women on here more experienced than me so please bare with me 😅

I am 34+1 weeks pregnant. When I went to pee I noticed that my underwear is slightly wet. Can’t tell the colour too well as the underwear is brown but to me it appears that it’s colourless and completely odourless. For a second I thought I might’ve leaked a little by not making it on the toilet on time as it happened before but it doesn’t smell like urine. No pain/contractions either just the wet underwear. Does anyone know what it might be? Should I be freaking out as I am only 34 weeks.

I have uploaded a photo just so it’s clearer and hope that that’s alright too 😅

Bored

So what are we doing to keep ourselves busy after the baby goes to sleep I’ve already done all the laundry and picked up the house I’m sick of being on my phone or watching tv but I physically can’t let myself get too far away from my baby while she’s sleeping. Anyone else struggling keeping themselves busy or just me?
