I'm not sure it's possible to work from home as well as look after your child? Or do you mean you need help with the adjustment period?

I’ll be attempting to do this too once little one is 6m old.. curious to know if anyone has any experience in doing it successfully!

I work from home but my husband takes toddler on a day out so I can focus

If you find the first time moms or a group that’s more US based you might find some better experience, I’d assume this group is mainly UK and it’s against like 99% of employment contracts here to have childcare responsibilities during your working day x

If it’s possible have a schedule to put the baby down for a nap around the hrs you have to work

Doing this but only part-time and in flexible hours. It is actually tough especially when you have a velcro baby. What helps me is that my husband takes over during night time. That's the time I can focus working

Did it for a year successfully 🙂 he was 9 months when I started work again.
Get yourself a play pen and rotate the toys daily. Put it right next to your desk so you can eyeball them and they can eyeball you.
Expect to get less done while they're awake and expect to work like a woman possessed when they're asleep.
Meal prep lunch boxes and snacks the night before so it's grab and go and not another thing to juggle.
Make sure their toys are at their level and work on a time rotation to help boost independent play i.e. work 30 minutes (or whatever your kid can handle) then play uninterrupted with them for 10 minutes. Do this on repeat.
Lastly ... BE KIND TO YOURSELF. It's overwhelming and exhausting. Remember you're effectively running 16 hours worth of work in 8 hours. Do what your nervous system allows and take sick days when you just can't cope.

I work from home but my job isn’t ok with me having my daughter while working. I watch hannassentiment on instagram though and she’s doing it with 4 kids now. Don’t know how she does it

5 years working from home. Its possible!

Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life, currently racking up money to pay all my debts off so I can live comfortably on my husbands wages. If it wasn’t for the debt I got into while at uni I would not choose to work from home with a child.

So it depends on what you do for work. I did work from home and manage caring for my baby for 3 months before bringing her to daycare. I have a desk job and was able to baby ware during the day unless I had meetings. Then she would go in a bassinet right next to me or her pack and play right next to me with some soft music and some sensory items. Feedings and pumping were also worked around meetings and naps. It was not easy by any means. And some days when my husband got home I would have to go decompress for a while after all of it. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered

I think it depends on the job. I tried it but it didn't work, my baby likes my attention and won't let me have business calls without complaining. I also couldn't focus and was worried about making mistakes with my mind in two places, rushing emails and checking things. I got very overwhelmed with balancing caring for my baby and working, it was just a carousel morning and night. I don't have anyone to help though, and my OH works 7-7. I put my baby into nursery 3 mornings per week and her dad has Fridays off with her. She loves it. She's developing well and they play all sorts of activities with her and take her out for walks. I can get enough done in that time alone and then focus on my baby in the afternoon.
I was a working corporate girlie until yesterday when I randomly got fired. I'm 6 months away from being due. I'm trying to be positive about it but honestly i'm actually really devastated :"(

I had a call with my manager in early August and I told her my plans for reducing to 3 days a week and not returning until April 2027 (Mat leave ends on 1st Dec 2026). She agreed and said was fine with her but I need to put in writing and email.
I sent the email the next day and I’ve had zero response for the formal flexible working request. Is this something I should be concerned about?
I have since emailed twice requesting to do some KIT days as I now only have 2 months to do them and could do with the money. However again these have had zero response.
I’m not sure what to do next if they keep ignoring emails.

Is everyone continuing to take vitamins beyond 12 weeks? When I asked my midwife at 10 weeks, she said it’s not necessary as folic acid is only needed for development which happens in the first trimester

Hello I am a first time mom looking to work from home, and I am DESPERATE 😭😭 i feel like im missing so much moments with my baby, but because i have school online and then i have to go to work, the only days off i have are weekends but i end up cleaning, cooking, feeding my baby, putting her to sleep or im even out running errands. i want to be able to stay home with her and feel “alive” if that makes sense 😭💔 Ate there any moms who work from home to see if they’re job is hiring?
Thank youu 💕

Hey Mamas. Im 35+4 and I'm exhausted. My job is not that physically demanding but the commute, the walks etc sometimes are too much. I cant really sleep well lately and i just feel over the edge. I am due on the 30th October but officially starting my maternity leave from the 16th. Although I feel like I can't get to work anymore. My question is whether I change my maternity leave for next week or I wait for the 16th. It feels so far away and feel like I won't be doing much home, but I would love to rest more.
