My 3mo was hospitalized the past couple days due to RSV. This has been one of the most traumatic experiences I’ve ever had. Last Wednesday my baby started having a dry cough, it wasn’t intense but I was monitoring him. The following day he was sneezing and cough with mild congestion. Friday was a bit worse so I took him to his pediatrician and they said he had a cold but was ok. I was a bit in doubt but continued to monitor him. Sunday was extremely bad, I took him to urgent care and they had to get him transported to the ER. Watching my baby get loaded into the ambulance was a nightmare. I cried the entire way to the hospital. They confirmed he had RSV and was going to be admitted. Watching my baby in such a weak state and get treated, had me feeling horrible. I was praying to take the pain away from him.. I was reminded that my maternity leave ends in 2 weeks but I can’t even imagine leaving my baby now, especially after what he’s gone through. I want to quit my job and be there for him. Everyone’s saying I’m over exaggerating but am I really? Could someone please tell me what they’d do in this case?

You’re not exaggerating at all. It’s easy for people to talk when they’re not the ones going through it. I would’ve done the same thing, and I actually did. My daughter didn’t get that seriously sick, but I quit my job to be able to take better care of her.
I can imagine how horrible and scary that experience must have been. My daughter got RSV when she was only 2 months old, and we spent a day in the hospital. It was one of the worst days of my life.
I can totally understand you. Just do whatever makes you feel better. ❤️

If you would be willing / able to quit your job, is there no way you could just extend your leave a bit? Give him time to fully recover. I am not saying you are overreacting, because what a horrendous thing for you both to go through. It must have been awful. But he will hopefully be completely fine soon and is not going to need extra care or anything because of his RSV. So whilst wanting to be close to your baby for longer is a completely normal reaction, I dont think you should quit (unless you can financially afford not to work for a long time). X

You can get FMLA! no need to quit your job and they cannot fire you for FMLA.
If you WANT to quit so you can be a SAHM, I say do it. But make sure your family is in a position to do so, and that you and hubby have the same view of what is expected between both if you do so.

Mine didn't go through anything like that and I still quit. I didn't put my first into daycare and refused to do with my second. My first is also suspected asd and between a new sibling and the start of a new school year it was a lot of changes for him and that can trigger meltdowns so we needed someone available to get him from school at the drop of a hat. You do what is right for you and yours. Fuck anyone else's opinion.

So my OB really is making this journey a pain in the ass. First they scheduled me with a doctor who is retiring this winter and no longer takes patients--so I was rescheduled twice with my current doctor. That was two separate occasions.
I then needed approval for medication for my asthma because I was suffocating from a flare up. They never called back after 3 days and contacting the office is a bitch since AI answers calls. I was going to wait for my next appointment to get meds but I'm so unwell that I got an emergency script.
Then today I was suppose to have said appointment plus my anatomy scan. Husband takes off work for the day, excited to see his little man and ensure I'm healthy. I get a call last minute to reschedule because my doctor moved offices.
Last time I checked the doctor needs to be flexible with a patient's schedule. Not the other way around. Especially in a day and age when both parties have to work in this shit economy so making time for an appointment can be a hassle.
If they mess up again I'm switching clinics because I'm 20 weeks and I don't have the patience for all this nonsense. They screwed up 3/4 appointments so far and I've had it.
I'm already very nervous about how my baby is doing. I've only seen him once in a scan at 7 weeks and he was only a tiny bean.
My family is super excited and they're getting equally as pissed with me when it comes to the doctor's office.

How come I join a group chat and there a lot of girls and I try to talk or even make a conversation with those girls and never once someone talk to me or even acknowledge me. I just wanted friends or someone to talk to or vent about during the days but moms make it hard to make friends . Either they judge me or they dislike me .
