First birthday invite at nursery

My daughter received her first birthday invite yesterday at nursery since she started a couple months ago (😭🥹😭 I was pretty emotional lol)
But I’ve also got a 1 year old, as my daughter is my first and I’ve got no idea who the mum is etc but how do I go about it with my son. Does he come with me? Or do I get childcare? Or should o just simply text the mum?

Me as a mum wouldn’t mind if he came if it was my daughter’s party but I don’t want to be rude!

If it’s a time when it’s my sons nap time then he’s just stayed home with dad, but my partner is of the opinion my son would find it fun too (if it’s a soft play or something) so I should take him 🫠 so I usually just message saying we’d love to come, is it okay if I bring my son too? I can pay extra for him and he won’t need any food or anything. They’ve always said yes luckily. If they said no and I was in a position where my partner couldn’t watch my son then I’d probably reply saying unfortunately we won’t be able to come, but I’d still get the child a card and leave it at nursery for their parents to collect

I would always text and ask first, don’t just assume it is ok.

I’ve been to many kids parties where a parent has turned up with 2-3+ kids in tow, and just expected them to be catered for.

Sadly it meant that the original child who was invited, didn’t get invited to other parties again (word spread amongst other mums about the pisstaking parent).

Where is it? I’d just send a message and ask if you don’t have childcare.

I would ask or assume other baby isn’t invited just incase the mum has paid per head for the children to be catered for etc x

Thanks everyone!

So Mum wouldn’t have a clue that she has a little brother - the times I drop and pick her up isn’t a time when other mums are there. Plus this girl is turning 4, and my daughter is only 2.5 so I’m assuming this girl does a whole day there.

My husband could look after little one, but he would like to attend and see her around other children and her friends as he can never do drop off or pick up at nursery due to work commitments.

Obviously I don’t want to take the piss and will ask her first before rocking up. Luckily we aren’t having any other kids so defo won’t be that mum ditching 4 kids at a party lol.

C section vs Induction - advice please!

So I’m really conflicted - basically, after finding out at 34 weeks my pregnancy is classed as high risk due to previous SGA baby (6lbs at full term), after having growth scans the past two weeks I’ve been told this baby is on 97th centile and I’ll either need an induction or a planned section, and I really don’t know what to do. My first labour was horrific, I was induced due to PROM and ended up in theatre with a forceps delivery, had sepsis, an episiotomy and lost a lot of blood - but my recovery was fairly fine. So now having to decide whether to go through that again, with potential complications of a ‘big’ baby (I’m still not sure I trust the growth scans?) I don’t know if to chose an elective section instead, but that of course comes with its own risks and longer recovery, and with a wild 3 year old and a dog I feel like it would be even more difficult! Has anyone been through anything similar, what did you decide and how did it go? Thanks!

Period like Cramps!

I posted a week ago just about having some period like cramps, every few days. I’m 37 weeks + 2, last night around 8pm I had an intense pain in my back for 1-2 minutes and could’ve cried at the pain🤣 it then vanished, went to bed and woke up 4 times through the night with what felt like period cramping all across my pelvis, this is the most and consistent I’ve had it. I haven’t lost my mucus plug, no blood, water hasn’t broken! Could this be a sign that labour is close? Or is this just what happens? Thank you 🩷

I’m a little scared

So apparently my baby boy is definitely bigger than normal and I’m short. It’s recommended I do a C Section for the health of my baby and for me as well. I’m definitely going to go through with it bc it’s safer for the both of us but I’m honestly incredibly scared. I have mad respect for mothers who went through a C Section it’s a fear of mine to be awake while I’m being cut open. Anyone have any advice to prep or in general to ease anxiety at all.

C section recovery

Is a wedge pillow and shower chair absolutely necessary post c section? Well it have a major impact on help? I’m running low on all these recovery things and things for the twins but if recovery is that painful i’d like to know and i’ll spend on it anyway 😭😭
