Misogyny crisis

We are expecting a little boy, and can’t wait!
That said, I’ve had a big wobble this week! Anyone else gone into a bit of a pit of despair regarding the current misogyny crisis, the state of the world’s social climate and just generally everything in the news?
I feel under so much pressure to raise a respectful, emotionally adjusted and broad minded boy. I’m so lucky as my partner will be the best role model, but everything that boys are exposed to in today’s world is so scary 😞
I know it’s a problem bigger than any of us and there aren’t any answers right now, just reaching out for solidarity of future boy mums who might be feeling the same 🩵

I have a little boy 3 years old and it's a major raising condition to me. Raising.gentle.boys on Instagram is helpful. Also there's plenty of books that you can read but first of all and I think the most important is him having parents (male figure !!!)who deconstruct their misogynist patterns (we all have been raised in patriarchy and we all have flaws from it...)

Aw I feel very gender aware because of the same reasons. I love the below podcast, it has really practical advice and talks through all those kind of topics

I’m also hoping things improve by the time our littles are bigger 🤞

I think about it all the time. I don’t know what gender my unborn child is but my son is 2 and it’s so scary. He’s just so innocent at the moment and I want him to grow into the amazing man I know he can be. Luckily all his family male role models are amazing but you can’t control everything they’re exposed to and I’ve definitely got some reading to do on how to navigate situations etc.

Does anybody else do this?

I know that this is an insecurity thing and that it’s childish and sucks whatever but does anybody else swipe left on people just because they’re too pretty to be around your husband or boyfriend? Doesn’t it just suck because I would love to be friends, but men are dogs and you just never know. 😂😂😂

How can I share this with my husband?

I wanna tell my husband about a way that he's making me feel, but I want to say it in a way he's not gonna flip it or get defensive. So some back story our sex life is ok but not as frequent as HE would like it. I haven't ever really been a sexual person like it's good, but I truly feel I could go without it for the rest of my life. Plus with some feelings of resentment towards him and having such a busy life and stress on me I'm often not in the mood or just exhausted. Now it really hit me last night that I often don't do the things I want or enjoy when I finally have free time after the kids go to bed, and the reason is because he feels like anytime that is finally free is our time and we could be being intimate or whatever. But that leaves me usually feeling like if I say I'm too tired to have sex then I should be too tired to crochet or read a book, etc. so I should just not do what I want and go to bed because otherwise I have to hear him say that I'm just not prioritizing him. And I just don't feel like I should look at the time and see that I have an hour to myself finally but before I can give it to myself I need to give HIM some of that time also, usually leaving me with no time or like 10min. How can I tell him that this is how I feel, it's been giving me anxiety for the last 5 years living like this.

No Contact with Family

I’m 3 years no contact with my immediate family and wondering if you ever get to a point of just not caring anymore?
There’s nothing that would cause me to rekindle contact with them, but some days you just need your mum, but not your mum.. if that makes any sense 🫣

No friends

I live in Beverly hills Florida. I am desperate for some friends. I literally have no one but a couple family members and my husband. It would be so nice to actually have friends to do things with. I haven't had friends in such a long time and I'm so lonely. The one friend I did have down here had a falling out with me. I moved from Maryland last year and things have been difficult.
