How can I share this with my husband?

I wanna tell my husband about a way that he's making me feel, but I want to say it in a way he's not gonna flip it or get defensive. So some back story our sex life is ok but not as frequent as HE would like it. I haven't ever really been a sexual person like it's good, but I truly feel I could go without it for the rest of my life. Plus with some feelings of resentment towards him and having such a busy life and stress on me I'm often not in the mood or just exhausted. Now it really hit me last night that I often don't do the things I want or enjoy when I finally have free time after the kids go to bed, and the reason is because he feels like anytime that is finally free is our time and we could be being intimate or whatever. But that leaves me usually feeling like if I say I'm too tired to have sex then I should be too tired to crochet or read a book, etc. so I should just not do what I want and go to bed because otherwise I have to hear him say that I'm just not prioritizing him. And I just don't feel like I should look at the time and see that I have an hour to myself finally but before I can give it to myself I need to give HIM some of that time also, usually leaving me with no time or like 10min. How can I tell him that this is how I feel, it's been giving me anxiety for the last 5 years living like this.

I wonder would you feel this way if he stepped up and helped you more to give you more free time? I always say a woman needs turned on mentally and emotionally before she can physically get there. Yes some if us LOVE sex, but when missing the emotional or mental stimulation it's just a chore. So I ask if that might change your opinion on sex and see if that could come together so you are both pleased? Just be honest with him. I bet before kids you didn't mind the sex so much right? Bet he was also stepping up in other ways then too right? Give it a shot!!! Best of luck!!!

"I need time to decompress. I'm constantly in mum mode, weighed down with tasks/thinking about everyone else and I'm not investing into myself. If I'm not investing into myself I'm getting more tired/worn down/resentful towards you for prioritising yourself. I'm not feeling confident, fulfilled or relaxed which means I'm not feeling in the mood for intimacy. Mental exhaustion is different to physical, I'm physically tired too but can't simply exist to mum and work and sleep, I need mental stimulation and wellbeing time. Instead of trying to guilt trip me into sex, why not try putting my time and my peace at the top of your priorities list for a while. Why don't you ask me what you can do to support me to feel more myself? The reality is that your concern should be that I'm unhappy. Rather than worrying about your dick, think about the reason I'm not happy and what it is you are doing to make my life better. Because right now you're making it worse. If you made it better maybe I'd be more interested"

My therapist would recommend assertive communication by using β€œI” statements. β€œI am feeling tired because I been busy. I need an hour to myself to relax. We can reconvene after. Is that okay with you?”

If he argues or defends; affirm his feelings, restate yourself, and set the boundary. β€œI understand you are upset. I am still tired, and I need time to rewind. We can still have our time afterwards.”

If he escalates, β€œI am going to walk away now. I need to calm down before we can have a productive conversation.”

Help around the house so you can have more free time and time to decompress as mentioned by ladies above. Both of your needs are valid and you could try and find a middle ground, a compromise so you dont feel like all you do is cater to everyones needs all day and he feels heard and understood. Also its extremely important to work through resentment, as it is like relationship cancer, slowly killing feelings towards each other. Talk to him about unresolved issues you have with him from the place of love and the desire to be emotionally closer. The key is not necessarily understand and reason each others person, but love and respect each others individuality.

Ps: if above doesnt make sence to you, please dont judge me, im sleep deprivedπŸ₯±

I guess wat I mean flip it is him saying "that's why I said I'll do the dishes" he has agreed to take on the task of dishes but that's just it it's the task of dishes, not the mental task of the dishes; putting leftovers away, packing lunches, clearing the stuff off counters, washing ALL of the dishes, wiping down counters, cleaning sinks, and even cleaning out the fridge of old leftovers. To some that's not washing dishes, but to me it is. Those are all the things that goes on in my mind to make sure everything runs smoothly. U can't have no dishes in the sink but clutter on the counter and a dirty stove still at the end of the night. But he thinks that him taking on this task is enough for me to rest but it's not.

Gym time

I'm two months postpartum and I want to start working out. I'm trying to figure out how to ease my way back into the gym. I was thinking about Chole Ting, but her workout videos are pretty intense. I'm also a single mom, so I'm trying to figure out how to fit in workout time between feedings.

Happy maternity leave

While I’m on maternity leave, my husband has been telling people at work about the conflicts in our family, and one of his friends suggested that he buy me a ticket to Ukraine so I could go there and die. It sounds almost absurd to say it out loud, but the funny part is that I actually found out about this from my husband himself. How am I supposed to feel about that?

Do Real friends exist?

I honestly can say I’m truly hurting today. I’m always the person that reaches out, check on others, give my last no matter what I have going on. To go from have friends supporting you during pregnancy, being there for you, there after baby is born to just dipping is heartbreaking and really hurts. I may not be able to go every
Where all the time but you can still invite me. It’s crazy to me how people just up n leave like it’s nothing. I’ve tried to make new friends but honestly it’s not easy after being hurt so much I’m truly tired of the friendship hurt πŸ˜πŸ’”

I’m pregnant and want advice 🩢

Me and my guy have been together for 5 years. We have a son and now we have a baby girl on the way which I’m pretty excited about because I’ve always wanted to be a mom . But here’s the problem my guy hates his baby mama. He will not talk or communicate with her because maybe over 15 years ago she gave their kids up for adoption. He was incarcerated at the time and because he told her he didn’t want to continue a relationship with her and only wanted to co parent she got mad and gave the kids away so he don’t want anything to do with her but she calls from different numbers nonstop playing on his phone and the way she is getting his number is looking it up and paying for it online . She pretends to be someone else to try to talk to him about their kids, but the kids lived with their foster parents . So is it wrong that he doesn’t want to talk to her anymore because of the matter. Also, his kids are over the age of 17 . I always see posts that when a person don’t get along/Hate their baby mama or baby daddy is usually a red flag, but I just wanted to get some advice here to see if you guys would agree so that way I can know how to talk to him about the situation.
