Ever since my girl turned 3 months, she has been incredibly distracted by life every time I feed her. It started that she would refuse boob during the day when showing hunger cues and would only feed straight after a nap when drowsy. Now, for rhe last 2 weeks, she will only feed straight after a nap, but for like 2mins then refuses, or full feeds on the changing table when I am hanging over her. Im guessing that because I am hanging over her, I am blocking the view of anything 'exciting' and it's fairly quiet in there. I have tried taking her to a quiet room, dark room, different positions etc etc and still refuses. Literally only feeds on the changing table and fills her belly every time.
She has always been EBF, we both love it and I really dont want to stop. Shes absolutely fine overnight feeding because shes sleepy and feeds brilliantly like there's no change or issue.
Has anybody experienced this before??? What did you do?

Solidarity. My daughter was exactly the same. It got too much so I swapped to bottle feeding with the occasional breastfeed in the day and at night.

My baby is very similar! Getting really tricky to feed her out and about and then it makes me worry she's not getting enough and won't sleep well š«£
I'm the same and I don't want to stop but it's getting quite tricky alongside her not sleeping well either.
No advice but here for the advice too, just glad I'm not alone!
I have been told it is just a phase but its been 2 months now and has progressed from just refusing and only feeding small amounts after naps and making up for it all night long, meaning no sleep for either of us. And has progressed to topping up with a full belly of milk on the changing table every time I change her. I am in a similar boat to you Jo and Hannah, struggling to leave the house because she wont feed out and about! If its just a phase, how long is this phase? 𤣠I am also concerned that this becomes a 'habit' and this is it for the next 7-8months š¤¦āāļø

No advice either but I was in the same situation between months 3 and 5. Really loved BF too but it was causing me a lot of stress, worrying whether she was getting enough/ sleepless nights of her catching up on calories/ quite depressing times of having to retreat to a dark, quiet room.... in the last few weeks I have switched to bottles and finding it a lot easier. I still Bf over night/first thing in the morning and before bath time which seems to be the times she is happy to. I feel intermittently sad that I am no longer exclusively BF but feeling calmer about feeding is a big plus x

Probably basic to you guys, but I have never really used a ācover-upā while feeding out and about. Just sort of got on with it.
Went on holiday last week and used one for plane and just being in a different country and it actually really helped.
Before that I had generally just been feeding into and out of naps to get the calories in.
I have also built a habit of holding his hand when feeding as he used to wave it around, rub his face and hit himself with it. He now holds my thumb while feeding think thatās helps to concentrate.
4 week old baby - Should we wake a baby up if theyāve been sleeping for 2+ hours (for example)
When do we wake them up or we let them wake naturally?

How did you transition your baby to a sleeping bag from a swaddle if you used one? What age were they and how long did it take for them to get used to it? My 8 week old has a really strong startle reflex and constantly wakes himself up from his arms š«

My little one is 20 weeks and refused a nap this afternoon so wondering if we should be dropping a nap down to 3 naps?
Would people mind commenting baby age and how many naps they have a day please?
FYI⦠baby is a terrible sleeper, still 1-2 hourly wakes at night generally, with extremely rare longer stretches. At this point I have nothing really to lose in changing day sleep š

Im a pregnant university student and I was wondering if anyone would actually be interested in filling out a questionnaire for postpartum depression risk factors before I decided what my topic is. I think this topic definitely needs more research and now that im about to be a mum its given me a new perspective on how stigmatised mothers mental health can be
