12 week scan

Got my 12 week dating scan booked and I’m honestly feeling so upset and lost about what to do 😔❤️

We literally have no one around us who can have our 17-month-old while we go. He doesn’t go to nursery as I’m a SAHM, and unfortunately children aren’t allowed in the scan room.

It feels like our only option is for my partner and our little boy to wait in the waiting room while I have the scan alone. But that means my partner misses out on seeing our baby for the first time, and equally, I really don’t want to be on my own if there were to be any bad news. I just feel like I need him there with me, whatever the outcome. 😢

I know lots of people probably have to deal with this kind of situation, but I genuinely don’t know what the answer is. We don’t have family nearby that we can ask, and I’m really struggling with the thought of having to choose between my partner being there for me and him getting to see baby.

Has anyone else been in this situation? What did you do? ❤️

Could you have a private scan in advance? That way dad sees baby with you for the first time and your toddler will be allowed in x

This is just one of the first things that you just have to work out, you've many more midwife appointments, scans and then the actual birth.. I'd start now making sure you have plans in place. A babysitter introduced now would not be a stranger in 6 months when you need someone to watch your first if your partner is wanting to be at the birth

Thats a really sucky situation! The private scan suggestion above was the best idea if you can do that 😊 Other than that, only thing I could think of was doing a video call to your partner from inside the room 😂 But don't know if you'd be allowed to do that lol x

Ours said no children so my
Husband waited with our toddler in the wait room, and the sonographer was super encouraging of them to both come in with me! They said so long as toddler was well behaved (he had food so was fine to sit!)

The rule is normally toddlers have to be quiet and secured in pushchair if they have to be present. They dont tend to blanket ban them because theres so many single mothers etc with no childcare. I would take him along and say if he stays quiet a qell behaved can he come in and then set him up with a YouTube video on your phone in his pushchair

Induction

Due date was 11th but having to be induced tomorrow due to baby not growing enough since last scan or at least as far as they can see on the scan he’s not grown… I had a C-section with my first which was 4 years ago so have no idea what labour is like.
I’ve also been told that I’m at higher risk of my scar re opening due to the induction process… can anyone give me any info or advice on how to prepare for this?

Feeling very overwhelmed and stressed but baby is moving fine and he’s getting enough oxygen for right now so I’m hoping everything will go smoothly and won’t need another section as I’m really hoping for a vbac this time around.

Advice needed

My baby is nearly 6 months, he has always hated tummy
Time but is getting stronger, he can roll one way, and can physically roll the other way but won’t unless we encourage him, he also predominantly uses one hand and kicks one leg although he can do it with both, should I be concerned? He has his 6 month review at the end of the month but my head is spiralling
