So I’m 8 weeks pregnant. My youngest just turned 1 August 10th I also have a 7 yr old 4 yr old and a 2 yr old. I told my mom I was pregnant only because eventually she would notice. But yesterday she said something that bothered me then tried to flip it. Basically she was like “ the nurse told you your last pregnancy that your body was under stress because you keep having babies back to back “ “ I hope this one doesn’t kill you “ I hope this one doesn’t take you out “ so it didnt dawn on me till she hung up the phone . in my mind I’m like that’s really fucked up to say. She says I took it in the wrong context but how??? I told her actually by her saying that I could be very traumatized worrying about if I’m going to die or not. She’s like “ well I’m traumatized because of what the nurse told you last yr “ like wtf now it’s about her. Please share your thought.

I don't think it was right of her to say that. Sounds like she's worried and just wasn't expressing it in the best way.

Feel like she's just trying to be worried about you. I wouldn't take it the wrong way, like it's a fucked up thing to say, could've said something like 'remember what the nurse told you' or 'I'm worried about you'?

She’s absolutely right and that’s something you should have considered. She has every right to be a concerned mom. You have 2 under 2 along with a 4 and 7 year old plus you’re pregnant. This is unfortunately a reality of your situation. However what’s done is done stressing you about it after the fact is pointless but try to be understanding she’s scared for you and your babies. Everything will be fine in the end

I think you need to put yourself in her shoes- you are her baby. Imagine one of your babies was in a similar situation - of course you would worry. Should she have said it? No. Will you be fine and have a healthy baby and life? Yes. But outside of knowing your mom- she is probably just worried about her baby -youb

Honestly, her response could have been way better and more receptive. She can worry about you which is what a mom does, but she didn’t think about you and how it would make you feel. But if this was your daughter coming to you, just the trauma could have you reacting like that as well. Just give both of yourselves some grace.

I had back to back kids and preeclampsia both times my mom and husband were very worried. The kids are loved but the health concerns were also valid

I think she could have worded it better but it sounds like she's worried for valid reasons.

she’s right, she could have said it better, but she’s right to be worried.
My husband works during the week and I’m on mat leave. I start my LO bedtime routine at 8pm and she needs to be held to sleep (she’s 12 weeks) so basically my bedtime has now become the same as hers. During the week he doesn’t get up at night to help with the baby because of work and he needs his rest but on the weekends he stays up all night playing video games and will complain that he couldn’t sleep.
I feel like if he’s up anyway, he could help with putting her to sleep but since she’s EBF, he will use the excuse that he can’t feed her so he can’t. Is it fair for me to be upset about this?
Edit: will also add that on weekends , he will wake up around 2pm but then will spend a few hours with her and encourages me to do something for myself. But it’s the nights that get me!

We have booked a holiday abroad for April of which baby will be 5 months old by then - what do people suggest in terms of making sure baby has car seat/pushchair for the holiday without taking too much? I want to make sure he is safe and comfortable for the holiday xx

Hey everyone,
I have just bought the Joie GTI spin car seat for my 10 month old but having major issues with her head leaning forward when she falls asleep…
I’ve got the reclining back on the car seat as much as it will go, and think that the head rest is at the right level.
Does anyone else have this problem and know what I can do about it? or whether it is just the car seat in general?
Thank you x

How seriously should we be taking nap times and wake times? My LO is 12 weeks old and I take her wake times seriously but so much so that I will stay home all day because I want her to nap properly given how short the wake windows are. My partner takes them lightly, and says she’ll sleep on the go (idk how when she hates her pram and will only sleep if I babywear.) Am I overcomplicating things or is he underestimating things?

When do babies get “set” nap times. I know they will be slightly difference but not sure when they get into a routine
