EDS? HEDS?

Is there any other girlies on here that have EDS or HEDS going through pregnancy or have already? I’m only 12 weeks and I’m really struggling with my hips, everyone just keeps saying walking will help but it seems to make them worse😩 message me if you have had anything similar x

Here!! HEDS with chronic pain, 2 boys now 2 and 4. Wished I had some answers when I was pregnant but no one could tell me Jack. Second pregnancy I struggled so badly with my hips until I saw a obstetric physiotherapist who gave me a whole routine to start - took maybe a month or so but it made a world of difference. You should be able to have your midwife refer you or refer yourself depending where you are. They may also recommend a belt to try to stabilise your pelvis but it doesnt work for everyone, didnt help me. Any questions please feel free to ask. Been there, done that, got the dislocated femur. *(Do not recommend that when your 7 months pregnant)*

Oh crikey! See luckily my symptoms are on the mild side! Sometimes I feel I’m being silly asking for help and I’m just imagining the pain ahahahah x

My joints were really unstable especially during early and late pregnancy, everyone including medical professionals fobbed it off. I done a whole load of trial and error; What helped support my hips were wearing a binding pregnancy belt, warm baths every night, hip exercises even gentle rotations on a ball, and a pregnancy pillow in-between the legs when resting and sleeping.
I hope your pain eases & you have a wonderful pregnancy 🫶

GBS positive + water broke , but no contractions — when did you go to L&D?

My water broke around 8 AM this morning with a pretty big gush, and I’ve continued leaking some fluid since then. I’m GBS positive, but I’m barely having any contractions — maybe just a couple all day.

I’m trying to figure out whether I should head to Labor & Delivery now or stay home a little longer, rest, and wait to see if contractions start on their own. I’d really prefer not to go in too early if everything is okay.

For those of you who were GBS positive and had your water break before contractions started, how long did you stay home before going to the hospital? What did your OB/midwife recommend?

Just to add — I’m really trying to avoid being induced and give my body a chance to go into labor naturally. From what I’ve read, the actual percentage of babies who develop a GBS infection is very small, even without antibiotics. I’m obviously not trying to put my baby at risk, just trying to understand how long it’s reasonable to wait for contractions to start naturally.

Elective c section , but went into labour early

Has anyone had a c section scheduled, but then baby decided to come early? What happened then? Were they still able to do a c section?

Baby’s first birthday 🤍

My LO is turning 1 on the 20th and I feel like I’ve failed in a way because I have no support village no friends and I feel like he will miss out on experiencing a celebration. I’ve brought him so many presents and I’m taking him to the sea life centre he loves fish, whales etc.. and I’m going to decorate the room for when he wakes up. But I just feel like I’ve failed 😞💔

HELP - Severe back pain

Hi all, yesterday morning a woke up with a slight pain on the right side of my back. Sort of between my spine and shoulder blade but I think it’s deep within the shoulder blade. Anyway, it progressed so badly yesterday that breathing became painful, and I could not sit or stand in a comfortable position. I couldn’t lie down in my bed. My mum came over with Deep Heat (absolute QUEEN) which helped short term just relieve somewhat of the pain. And I took like double-action meds. But it’s not going, it’s still so painful, over 24 hours, I can’t sip water without it being excruciating, still breathing is hard. And all general movement. Has anyone experienced this? I ask because i literally can not bare to deal with one more doctor who sits there with lights on and nobody home type of thing, and i leave with no idea or help lol

Exhausted and grumpy

I'm 30 weeks today and I am EXHAUSTED! It's unlike first trimester (which was awful) in that I'm so sore, I'm constantly in pain, I have so much to do before our baby girl comes but I can't find the energy. To be fair, before pregnancy I was already struggling with chronic illness like fibromyalgia and migraines and a bladder condition but now I'm just miserable nonstop. My husband told me today that going on a walk might help but I feel like I'm struggling to even cook dinner a few times a week and I am too sore/swollen to even go to the grocery store. I know it won't get better but damn my brain keeps telling me I'm lazy and it sucks!!!
