Views on homosexuality

Can I just be real here? I want to talk about this.
The hardest part for me in my walk is views on being gay. I have a hard time with it. I have a best friend, also Christian, who has been in a lesbian relationship for almost 20 years. Her parents have never accepted it because of what the Bible says. I see depression in her because of it. I see how all of her friends around her, now having babies, affects her. She has said before “if my parents accepted my relationship, I believe I would be a mom by now”.
She has actually been HUGE in my coming to Jesus. She loves Jesus so much.
I’ve met wonderful gay people.

I’m not talking about the hyper sexual gay community, cross dressing, drag queens, etc.
I just have a hard time with this.

Thanks 🫶

What specifically gives you a tough time?
I grew up in a very strict cult where being gay meant we weren't allowed to socialise with them.
As an adult though, I understand its not a choice - let's talk it through together.

Yeah it’s difficult to understand. You can love and be friends with the person for sure and still not support the actual thing. It specifically says in the bible that homosexuality is a sin. And with sin you need to repent. So that’s with any sin. It’s all the same stealing, homosexuality, cheating. It’s all considered sin. I think people can love Jesus even if gay. But it’s difficult to fully follow him when you specifically know what you are doing isnt in the bible. God specifically says it’s not okay. So if you go about your life continuing to do it without physically trying to stop because obviously some sins are very addicting. But if you go about your life doing it then who knows if you’re really following Jesus or not. Or if you’ll go to heaven. Like that’s not our job to judge or to assume to anything. That’s all God. God will see her hurt and choose. But in general love one another and be friends with them and it’s awesome she loves God and has helped you with your faith.

Always remember
"Love the person hate the sin"

I feel like it's one of those things where it's just not up to us. We are free to have an opinion, but they are not the final say. God's say is the final say, whether we agree with it or not. Personally if it were up to me, I wouldn't have a problem with gay people at all, among other things. BUT it's not up to me, and God says that it's a sin so it is. And we just have to accept that and obey. You don't have to like it, but you do have to obey. But I'm sure your friend is a wonderful person and does love the Lord. But God will help her when the time is right. Or maybe he's already been trying to and she isn't allowing him in because she is satisfied with her ways. But we certainly don't have to hate gay people or view them as less. God loves them just as much so we should too. But it's also important to be honest with them that at the end of the day it is a sin, just like many of sins, and denying the desires of the flesh is hard but not impossible.

Same to you - Do you follow all of God's guidance? Or just the ones about being gay?

Look at it this way: there are many others sins people commit daily that we may more or less still interact with them despite: lying, cheating, sex outside of marriage, gossiping etc… to me homosexuality is one just like it.

We don’t have to hate anyone or condemn anyone. We have to see them as people loved by Yah so much that He died for them too and wants to reach them.

But here’s the reality, we can’t say we love Christ and not love His word and follow His commandments. It’s rebellion. You can’t love someone while continuing to do things that hurt the person, hurt the relationship or hurt and ultimately separates them from The Lord. The Bible also says that once you know the truth and sin, there’s no sacrifice left for you meaning the blood of Yeshua can’t wash you clean. Repentance has to be part of the equation bc it is when we repent (turn away from sin) that we are forgiven. So I would pray for yourself as you submit to the word of God & your best friend

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I’ll always totally respect a persons views on the queer community. But my biggest question is that in a world full of hate and violence and war and poverty why is the biggest problem some people have on who someone loves?

Maternity pay

Anyone else got really rubbish maternity pay?
I get 6 weeks at 90% then the rest is statutory which barely covers bills!
I want to take atleast 8/9 months just to be with baby but it’s daunting with the lack of income.
Anyone got any money making/saving ideas?

VENTING 😡🤦🏻‍♂️

Honestly, I’m getting really frustrated with this app 😭 Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’ve matched/talked with a couple moms who say they’re looking for mom friends, but then as soon as we actually start texting, the conversation is SO dry. 😭 I’m genuinely putting in effort to keep the conversation going, asking questions, trying to get to know them, and sometimes it literally feels like I’m draining them just by trying to have a conversation.

And then on top of that, I’ve dealt with feeling judged for having my son in sports. Like… he LOVES being active, he enjoys the sports he’s in, and I’m just trying to keep him busy and give him things he enjoys. I don’t understand why that would be something another mom would judge me for.

I’m literally just on here because I want genuine mom friends. I’m a very friendly person, I love talking, getting to know people, doing things with our kids, having playdates, grabbing Starbucks, whatever. 🥲

It honestly makes me wonder if I should just delete the app because I’m not here to feel judged or like I have to beg someone to have a conversation with me.

Is anyone else dealing with this?? 😭

Soon to be mama, military wife - don’t have any other mom’s in my life

This is new for me to try and meet friends, so I’m hopeful to connect with someone who also feels like they need a community. I’m due late December, and I don’t know any other moms to talk to about pregnancy and baby around the corner. I just moved to Oregon from Maine because of my husbands military career, so it’s a bit lonely being somewhere where I know nobody. It’s also the first time in my life Im not working full-time.

Contraception Post Birth

Hi All,

What contraception do you use post birth?

I have been given the mini pill but changed to the combined pill as I was not getting regular periods. Although the combined pill has plenty of side effects reading the leaflet.
