nursery this young

My baby is currently 6 months old, and I’m already thinking about going back to work when he’s around 12 months.

Honestly, I don’t really want to leave him at nursery this young, but I also want to continue building my career.

For mums who started nursery around 1 year old — how did you find it? Did you feel like it affected your bond with your baby, or did you both adjust okay?

I think 12 months is the new average age with the way life is now😩my baby is going to nursery at 10 months & potentially getting a childminder before that because I cannot take 10 whole months off work. I have my own business & have the rent to pay for it, the stat mat pay doesn’t even cover it. I’m dreading it too, but our babies are going to learn SO much, especially socialisation skills! So many kids that are staying home till the age of 5 are having lots of screen time. iPads & tvs to keep them busy. They won’t have this at nursery x

I returned back to work at 6 months and went with a cm by the time he started walking we were starting to think about nursery and wanted to improve his socialisation skills. My youngest I was a sahm and signed her up for preschool.

My first started her settling in sessions at 9 months and then was at her full planned days (3 a week) from 10 months. She honestly settled really quickly and enjoyed her time there. Yes there were days that were harder for her but that's the same for home. I do think it's harder on the parent than the child to have to trust and leave them in someone else's care. I would suggest writing some questions to take with you to the settling in / stay and play sessions. Ask to see anything you want to know about (eg where do they sleep, where do the babies play who arnt sleeping etc) and that will really help. Mine is 2.5 now and still absolutely loves nursery and is really starting to make friends and become her own little identity. Don't worry that you feel conflicted, it's natural, and all through time people have relied on others to help with childcare. Before it would be family and village units, now we just have to pay someone to do the care now!

My LO started nursery 4 weeks ago and he turned 1 last week. It was really hard to leave him and I felt so guilty but he's actually thriving. He does painting activities, walks in the park and singing and lots of playing. It was hard for us both to adjust but he's always so excited when I pick him up and he's also gotten more affectionate. He goes 3 days a week

Dad not being in the moment

Does anyone ever struggle with their husband/partner not being present in the moment? My husband is great, he cooks, he cleans, he changes their diapers, he takes care of us. But sometimes, when the kids are doing something for the first time, he's not present. Like today, for example. My son is almost 3 and my daughter is 2 months old. My husband just got back from the gym and my daughter was doing tummy time, and her big bro was copying her and they were having a cute moment together. So I told him to go look at how cute they were! He was on his phone, on instagram or tiktok or whatever. He looks over for a second, smiles and goes back to his phone. I told him to look! And he looks again for a second and that was it. I got so mad cuz I was like why can't you just be in the moment and look at them enjoying a sweet moment together. He said he saw and I was like yeah, for a freaking second. Idk. It got me hella mad. Sorry for rambling. Anyone else feel this?

Autism diagnosis

Hello, recently my daughter who is almost three years old got diagnosed with autism a couple weeks ago. We are still waiting on the summary report from the doctors office to be sent over so I am not sure on the level that she is. I can’t reach out for help either for a few more weeks. She’s been in early intervention for two years and progresses very well. I been grieving the diagnosis and a lot of people can’t understand unless you are the parent going through it yourself. The doctors office wants to see her in 8 months to see how she progressing in pre k. I see a lot of people saying it’s Nero and you can’t grow out of it but my doctor said she misdiagnoses all the time and they have to put it in writing so it doesn’t come back on them. She thinks since my daughter is at a young age that is plenty of time for growth & progress and I just wanna get all of the help I need but it’s hard because I don’t know what I’m doing and this is all knew to me. (She was flagged for social skills and speech delay-also sounding out her words correctly) Any suggestions and support would be appreciated 🤍 this is Kinsley Elaine she’ll be 3 December 23rd and she LOVES baby shark finger puppets

Advice needed

Me and my partner live with his mom and his little sister who both always get ill around the end of october and im due on halloween with my first. His little sister does not cover her mouth when coughing or sneezing and his mom is demanding first cuddles with our baby boy when he comes home after being born however she gets ill faster then anyone else in the house and stays ill the longest and his little sister has a habit of walking around the house with ger phone on full volume screaming and shouting when playing games with her friends whilst only being 8. I dont want her waking up the baby when he is down for a nap and she has the worst attitude and my partners mom doesnt do anything about her screaming or when she has attitude so me or my partner ask her to quiet down and have explained that when the baby is here she can not be going round the house screaming and shouting yet she is still screaming at full volume and refuses to do as she is told by me my partner or their mom. What advice does people have for me about protecting my baby from illness and what can i do about my partners sister screaming and potentially waking the baby once he is born. Also my partners mom has already said that people will be coming over and they will all want to see the baby but me and my partner dont want him passed around like a parcel. Any advice for that will be great.

Does anybody else feel there partner has become a great dad but terrible life partner?

For context we have a 7 month old and have been together for almost three years I only ask because I ask myself every single day what I should do whether that means breaking up or staying together like this man just every day pisses me off, pisses me off like he makes life a living hell sometimes and I try to see through the bad and look for the good, but I don’t know if I should be doing that you know?
Let me know how you handle seeing the good over the bad cause i know there is more good than bad but GOD DAMN he is annoying.
