Trying to build milk supply

Hi all, I’m 3 weeks postpartum and i’m thinking of switching my baby from formula to breast milk. I’ve only just started pumping but it’s taking so much energy out of me. Does anyone have any advice?

You need to eat more since making milk uses energy you need to increase calories healthy ones. Fenugreek and milk thistle are also good supplements that naturally support milk production. There are so many products out now just research a few. Good luck!!!

Don't pump lovely if u want to build a milk supply after a formula. It won't be anywhere as affective as breastfeeding. Baby's lips have to make contact with your nipples in other for your body to receive the message it needs to be making more milk. Exactly as you said, pumping atm will be very hard. The more you latch your baby, the more milk you will have. I stopped feeding when my daughter was 21 months and now 3 months later I still leak so I am positive if I let her go on the boob I would have more milk again, but I wanted to stop X
If for some reason u can't, don't want to breastfeed but only pump it will be harder, but unfortunately I don't have any experience with that so can't advise, but worth contacting your midwife or local nursing support, they could have resources about pumping too.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: water, coconut water, smoothies, and Body Armor drink, paired with meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as pumping or feeding the little one every 2 to 3 hours consistently, so your body knows it needs to produce more milk for baby. Breastfeeding is a lot, but you got this, mama.

PLEASE HELP

Hi guyss I’m in need of help PLEASE! I am a POC and before getting pregnant I had BPD ( borderline personality disorder), anxiety and major depressive disorder, ptsd and ocd. I am 27 weeks pregnant and my prenatal depression has been horrible. I’ve been crying so much and physically feeling like I’m losing myself . I have a therapist, I told my OB everything. I finally decided to take that step and get back (previous times 2019 & 2022) on meds. But now I see all of these things like it can hurt my baby. Please someone help I need to know is my baby gonna be okay. I only took half a pill. Is there any POC that can send some advice please. ( nothing against anyone but our brains are wired differently and doctors treat us differently as well) .

Boy patted my baby in her pushchair today

Just want peoples opinions. So today I was in a children’s charity shop with my 6 month old and she was asleep in her pushchair. A boy who looked maybe 8-10 years old came over to us and patted her gently over her blanket. I was a bit taken back and then he went away and came back 10 mins later and asked me “what did I just do to your baby?” And I replied “you stroked her” then I asked him if he was with his mum or dad and he said no he’s with his tutor. I could see the man on the other aisle. I felt uncomfortable and just walked away with my pushchair. She stayed asleep the whole time. Am I being really silly in feeling scared at the time? Maybe it’s my anxiety after my baby was born as she nearly died or maybe it’s just normal that I was scared? I feel bad as I don’t know if he was special needs? It seemed like it but I just felt strange about it all

Going toilet

Any advice/tips on weeing after birth? I had my baby girl yesterday and I’ve got a second degree tear, very close to third degree. I’m in so much pain with going to the toilet. I’ve got a peri bottle and spritz for bits for after but has anyone got any other recommendations that helps the stinging? I’m drinking lots of water to make sure my urine isn’t concentrated too

Daytime newborn 😭 4.5 weeks old

How do people manage through the day with a baby who will NOT under any circumstance let you put them down for just one second. When she is being held she is silent/content/asleep but the literal second I try put her down on any surface she goes absolutely mental screaming and crying.

My baby literally does not sleep through the day - I’ve seen other posts saying similar but wow😵‍💫 Exhausting.

Suddenly super clingy!

Has anyone else experienced a really clingy phase around this age? 🥹

Recently, after breastfeeding, he’ll fall asleep on me only for him to instantly wake up and cry when I put him down. He also suddenly wants to be held pretty much all the time, and if I leave the room or he can’t see me, he’ll cry — then as soon as I come back into view, he’s happy again 😂

I’m sure it’s all completely normal, but has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated! ❤️

Bringing baby home from hospital

Need a bit of advice as I’m a bit unsure.

I don’t have a car, nor do I even have a license so driving to the hospital and back home is not an option.

We’ll get an Uber to the hospital but how would you get the baby back?

We’re considering uber back too, but then would need a car seat and I feel maybe it’s a lot of money to spend on a car seat when we don’t have a car nor the ability to drive😅

We don’t have anyone in the area with kids who we could borrow a car seat from, nor anyone near us who even has a car.

We’re in London

What would you do?
