When I got home from having my c section I said “I miss the hospital bed” to my husband so many times because sitting up on my own was so painful/uncomfortable

I slept on my back with a big pillow and heating pad. I also had a step stool

I bought a pillow off Amazon to sleep more upright with more support, which helped getting up and out of bed too

Honestly, after both c sections I spent the first week sleeping on the couch because being so much closer to the ground it was 10000X easier to get in and out of than our bed. Bassinet in the living room with us and it was all good 👍

I’m one week pp from my section. It’s so painful getting off bed. They say lay on the left it’s not even easy turning not talk of laying on left. I’m on my back now calculating how to get up lol

If you're sleeping in your bed, make sure to have a small pillow to hold over you incision when you cough, sneeze or turn over.

Never just sit upright from a laying position. Turn to your side first then push yourself up from your side. This will take tension off of the lower abdomen while it's super sensitive over the next few weeks.

Mine was 14 weeks ago, my partner got triangle wedge pillows off marketplace and it was a total game changer as it mimickes the hospital bed x

Slept on the big arm chair the first few nights home and then I borrowed my grandparents bed bar that meant I could use it to pull myself up. In bed I used mt pregnancy pillow to prop me up and then pillows under my knees too. I can now sleep on my side so just have a pillow between my knees and a little pillow under my tummy to give me support. Lots of pillows so the bed is full but it does get easier!

Healing game is wild

I put a pillow under my knees when resting in bed and slept on my side after a few days as this was less stretchy than my back. Like the other commenter I used a ton of pillows and learnt to roll off the bed rather than sit up

Yes I slept in my own bed and I had like 4 pillows behind me if not more. With some basically next to me too

First time labour!

Hey guys, I’m due on the 20th and have seen lots of people say they don’t want inductions, sweeps etc, is there any reason for this? I’d love to know different opinions as I’m so open to anything, thank you 🫶🏻

Induced?

I went into triage today after having reduced movements after my sweep yesterday. They have offered for me to be induced tomorrow morning. They said my waters are bulging and that i am already 4cm dilated. But not in active labour.
They said they were gonna break my waters and try the balloon. I had a previous c section before and was really hoping for a VBAC this time: does anyone have any words of wisdom? Am i making the right choice in being induced?

20 Week Scan

Had my 20 week Scan today. They couldn’t get a proper view of baby’s heart so asked us to return next week, everything else looked fine. And I also have a low lying placenta. Anyone else have this?

Tell me what it’s like

I’ve had one emergency c section and I was under a general anaesthetic so I don’t really know what it’s like. I also didn’t really have any issues with recovery other than lots of bleeding for way too long. I’m planning to have another one with next baby but I don’t really know what I’m in for. Can you tell me all your experiences, how did it go, good and bad! I want to have my eyes open!

C-section date

37 weeks pregnant and still waiting for my date. Seems very common not to get the date until the week before the actual op but I’m getting fed up not knowing😩 Anyone else feel the same!?😬

Preterm contractions

Last night around 11:30 PM, (after trying to go to sleep since 10, but was to uncomfortable) I started having some pretty intense contractions. I wasn’t timing them at first, but once they got bad enough to start tracking, they were about 1 minute long and roughly 4 minutes apart. They continued getting more intense and were honestly unbearable for a while.

We went to the hospital and were put on a monitor. they tried to check my cervix, but unfortunately they couldn’t reach it(the nurse had the shortest fingers you could possibly imagine and in my prior pregnancy they also struggled to reach my cervix even at 39 weeks!!), so we don’t know if there has been any cervical change. They gave me an IV saline drip(I was not and have not been dehydrated I’ve been drinking atleast 90floz of water a day), and after that the contractions started to calm down. By around 4 AM, they were about 10 minutes apart and much more bearable.

This morning I had a few random contractions, but nothing consistent or nearly as intense and they seemed to have gone away now.

Completely freaked out 🥴
