Diagnosed with gestational diabetes! Still trying to process the news

I thought I was healthy…normal BMI, walk loads, move all the time (I have a toddler 😂) and even cut out all sugar a month ago to be even healthier and still this came for me! I passed the fasting test but was one point over on the 2 hour past glucose drink. Apparently just one point over and they still take it super seriously. I haaaaaate needles and am really struggling with the whole pricking my finger 4x per day and all the worrying medical info they have given me…anyone else?

Just so you know it has absolutely nothing to do with your health and fitness before hand or what you ate, its down the the placenta releasing lots of hormones making you insulin resistant. So nothing you did wrong and totally out of your control. Still sad though. I was diagnosed almost 10 weeks ago and it was very overwhelming but you do get used to it and it becomes your routine! Im on insulin and my blood sugars are all over the place but my midwife keeps telling me its the sign of a very healthy pregnancy because it means your placenta is working hard (that doesnt make me feel any better 😅) one positive is you will get extra growth scans though!

I had this… and it is absolutely draining if I’m being completely honest.
I started following such a strict diet and literally everything I ate spiked me - plain chicken and wholemeal rice were giving me readings of like 13.2.
Even when they put me on metformin, i was still spiking.
I got diagnosed with it quite late into my pregnancy, and ended up being induced at 38 weeks, and the day before I had a complete breakdown as I was spiking left right and centre, I went to get me a large Big Mac and fries, with a full fat coke - the reading only come back as 7.2!

The pricking of the finger can absolutely send you over the edge, especially remembering to take it absolutely everywhere with you! but every single prick will be completely worth it when you have your baby in your arms!

You’ve got this 💪🏻

Almost time?

So at this point I don’t even know whats going on 🤣I am 39+3 weeks and had so many episodes of cramping/pains where I have thought this is it but clearly its been Braxton hicks as still no baby!
Yesterday I had bad cramping and pains for 9 hours from 3pm onwards, had urge to poop and lost thick discharge, and the pains did feel like they were getting worse and at one point it was too uncomfortable to even walk.. to the point I had everything ready to go and then everything just stopped again LOL.
Its my 2nd birth but tbh forgot what it felt like last time as I was induced and the whole thing was a blur as it was four years ago!

Anyone else been experiencing this?

Morning sickness

Spotting

Hello all! I’m around 9 weeks pregnant.

We recently had some brown discharge about 2 weeks ago. All cleared up and was fine. However now we are having light pink spotting. No pain, a little cramping like a period is wanting to come. I don’t have my first scan till 29th October so I’m a little in the unknown! My midwife said that there’s nothing they can do about it 🤷‍♀️

Has anyone experienced the same? Or in a previous pregnancy and all was fine?
