In love with someone else

I’ve been with my partner for 3 years and we have a 2 year old. I got pregnant only 2 months after meeting him, we said let’s make it work. We have an ok relationship but there’s no emotional connection. He think it’s ok but I’ve expressed I’m not happy.

Recently an ex from 7 years ago just told me he’s still in love with me and he wants to peruse this again. I wasn’t expecting to feel all the things that I’m feeling and now I can’t stop thinking about the possibility of us together.

But I have a two year old. I feel like it’s selfish to even think about these things because I’d be taking away his home, his dad his normal. Do I just stay for the sake of my child? I mean my partner isn’t a horrible person we just aren’t in love or do I leave and explore this new connection with my ex? I’m so confused

Does the ex know you are with someone else? If he does, I would really advise to be careful with him.

Such hardly ends well even after you have given up a complete family unit to go and "try" with him.

For your current partner, isn't there no way for you to work anything out? What was it like in the beginning before falling pregnant?

I know a lot changes for many once pregnancy and baby gets in the picture.

See if couple's therapy can help? There's a lot you can do to rekindle love if it was there at the beginning

Do you feel the Connection or you just want an excuse to leave your partner?,I don’t think is a good idea jump from another relationship to another. Maybe you should take a break from both guys and think about what you want for you and your family

I agree with Rosy. and even if couple therapy didn’t work and genuinely nothings helping, i still wouldn’t leave just to be with your ex. leave to find yourself! be single for a while and fall in love with YOU, not someone else. a lot of the time we want our ex back because we miss how we felt during that time, not because we actually miss them. so find that happiness and spark within yourself, by yourself x

An ex shouldn’t be meeting your kid any time soon just because u want out. Me and my husband are separated now. We were together 8 years and he has been with a girl for a few months. She will not be meeting my daughter til they’re together a year, she’s met my son. He’s a baby and I wasn’t ok with it honestly. I still live with my husband until we can figure out living separately. But my point is, don’t stay just because u don’t wanna break up your family. If you’ll be happy separated then leave.

I would ask yourself if you have feelings for the ex, or if you are just unhappy in your situation and the ex is offering an 'easy out'.
Our brains love to romanticise things and our fantasy is normally way better than the reality. The grass really isn't greener

Struggling

I’m sorry for the sad post but I’m honestly struggling so much and I feel so alone. I’ve tried to explain how I feel to my husband and mum but they don’t seem to get it. I have a 13 month old and I’m 4 months pregnant. I’m tired all the time, not happy in my marriage, put on so much weight and have absolutely no desire to do things. I’ve tried looking for a counsellor to talk to and just on the waitlist but I need to know it gets better. I feel like I’m stuck in a dark hole just pretending I’m okay to everyone my friends and family and work colleagues but I’m really really not.

Loneliness

Hi, I’m struggling with feeling quite lonely in pregnancy. I only have a handful of friends. 2 of them are pregnant which is quite nice, but I don’t really see the others. I’ve just joined a pregnancy Pilates group but I feel people keep to themselves. Does anyone have any ideas how I can connect with others and make like minded friends? I’m 15 weeks pregnant and live in Kent (UK). Xx

Am I overreacting?

To give some background, my partner used to use cocaine when he used to go out before I had a baby, it didn’t bother me, just let him get on with it. When it was getting close to baby being born I set a boundary and said that I did not want him doing that anymore when baby is here, he has responsibilities and a child to come home to. He promised me that he wouldn’t and for the first 4 months I am confident he didn’t.

He was out on Saturday and I knew immediately that he had, and he came home wanting to look after baby. I asked him and he denied it but I still wouldn’t let him anywhere near her.

On Sunday I barely spoke to him, and then asked him again on the night and he continued to deny it, in the end I asked him to swear on our baby that he hasn’t at which point he finally admitted it but didn’t seem sorry about it or bothered about it at all.

I feel like I’m struggling to get past this and that he would come home coked up and want to look after our baby but I don’t know if I am overreacting and I would rather be told straight up if I am!

What do I do ???

Ok I have to get this out and rant a little bit I never done something like this before but here goes..

After I gave birth to my first born there were no complications. Everything turned out just fine. I had a vaginal delivery..BUT the hospital workers still made me, my bf, and our baby boy (he’s 3 years old now) stay there for 5 days and we didn’t get any sleep the entire stay. We were also living in a hotel at the time and we didn’t have a car either. Once we finally came back to the hotel he found out that he got fired from his job and then everything went down hill from there (it’s way too personal to tell those details.)
Long story short..
I am 30 weeks pregnant and I’m due in December with our second baby boy. We can’t jeopardize his job again and I refuse to stay there more than 24 hours this time. I also don’t want to be there alone because they’re not going to allow our 3 year old to be there so this has been eating at me since it’s getting closer to that time and I’m not sure what to do ??
