How are we entertaining our babies?

Honestly, I don’t know how some Mums get things done. I found newborn infinitely easier than 3 months. His wake windows are long and his naps are short. He doesn’t like to be put down for too long. He seems to be getting bored of his toys. He loves people and social interaction. He loves going out for walks & outings but between that when I need to get things done at home, how do I!? He goes in the carrier but it’s 50/50 chance whether he’ll take to it. If he had it his way I would be carrying him around all day. What is everyone else doing?

I’m looking at the pile of clean washing and thinking I’ll sort it next time he sleeps then I put a new load in the next time he sleeps and it gets added to the infinite pile that I just don’t get round to 🤷🏼‍♀️

Every nap seems to be sort the dishes, put a load of washing in, then back to being an entertainer 🫣

My baby was very similar at 3 months! It gets easier from 6 months when they can sit and watch you do things/my baby got infinitely happier at this point! Not much helped in this time but it’s very fleeting and I would do anything to just hold my 3 month old all day long again! We did lots of meal prep and cleaning when both me and my husband were home to make it easier but for the most part I just held her and in hindsight didn’t soak it in enough! phases pass by very quickly

We use the bouncer where she can sit for a while while looking at black and white cards, her play gym (she can stay for 10/15 min by herself) then carrier for a bit longer. She then sleeps for a bit. I also put a playlist with songs and put her on her back on the sofa while I tidy the living room and keeping an eye on her. The morning during her first nap I get the most done as it’s a longer nap. And at night after 7:30/8pm once she goes to sleep. Saying that, I cook maybe 25% of the time. The other meals are either Huel, planty or outside meals. Most of my time is spent on laundry, washing dishes, folding. Showering and doing some work (business owner here, baby girl is 3 months old this week).

yep. 90 min wake windows and 30 minute naps. I can't do anything. I rush around when she's happy on her play mat putting away washing and putting a new load on, maybe make myself some food. that's generally it. however I've done this all before and it is a season... an annoying one but it does pass.

We were given one of those adaptable high chairs which are suitable from birth and it’s been a godsend.
I put my son in it when I cook, he loves watching and if he starts getting fussy we do silly dances and singing to occupy him. Highly recommend them.

All I will say is time really flies! It’s so hard when you’re in the thick of it but things get easier and easier where you can get things done, your house will be clean again, just try enjoy the time. Second time round I realise just how fast time goes💞 p.s. nothing gets done in our house 🤣

No advice because we are in the same boat. Short naps all contact naps and now seems to be getting bored with activities that previously helped, glad to hear we are all in the same boat!

I second that, my baby is three months as well, and she only naps on me and they are short naps, she doesn’t enjoy doing too much activities, her only joyful place is in my arms and should keep standing or going out so she can sleep a bit in her pram, at this stage I find it very hard to do anything at home😅

Advice please

Please can I get some advice? My husband is due to go on a trip to Paris for three days to see his friend. However, currently our baby girl is going through the four month regression her sleep is all over the place she’s teething really badly. She also has a cough at the moment and we think she might have a stomach bug because she’s having a lot of toileting issues. I’m taking her to the doctor today. I have been visibly stressed and upset the last few days because it has all become very difficult and challenging and the lack of sleep has not helped. I was due to go and stay with his parents this weekend while he goes on the trip, however yesterday he offered to cancel his trip and stay home with us. I don’t know what to do obviously I would rather he cancelled the trip and stayed with us because things are so difficult and I would be more comfortable with him at home then going and staying with my in-laws. However, if I ask him to cancel, I know I’ll feel so guilty every time I look at him this weekend knowing he could’ve been in Paris having a good time but instead he’s stuck with us what would you do?
Just to add, my husband did say he wasn’t sure he felt particularly comfortable leaving us both this weekend having said that he has not cancelled his trip. He’s asked me if I want him to cancel it.

Caught my husband sneaking out

So I’m out of town for a week visiting family with my son and my husband is at home. I caught him sneaking out on the ring camera from 1 to 4 am, this is the first time I’ve caught him doing anything sketchy but I’ve had a feeling. He’s a great dad and most of the time a good partner but he’s been distant lately I’m a hot head and don’t know how to converse without going straight into burning shit down but I have a kid now and need advise on how to confront and go forward with this info.

Am I the only one...

My husband and I had our son in December and at first he couldn't leave me alone(we didnwait the full 6 weeks before actually doing anything) but around March or April he kinda just lost interest in anything pertaining to us... since then it just seems like any time I try to initiate anything intimate there's always a reason as to why we can't but when he goes to sleep he wants to touch on me like he hadn't just given me a million excuses as to why he didn't want to. We've been together for 7 years and married for 1 so I know it's normal for couples to lose their spark I just didn't think it was going to be so one sided or soon I mean hell we're both in our mid 20s. It makes me feel like there's something wrong with me and I just don't know what to do when I bring it up he gets mad at me like I'm accusing him of something but I just want to know what's changed.

Nursery sign up reminder

For any first time mums thinking of sending their little one to nursery some time between 6months to 2 years, go sign up for the nursery now!!

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and submitted the paperwork for this baby to join the same nursery as my first when I was 15 weeks. Their waiting list is currently over 17 months so they don't have space at my planned return to work time when this baby is 10 months old. This is a small town nursery, I also enquired at my one at work and the wait list was over 24 months.

So just a gentle reminder for anyone thinking of sending their child to nursery, it's never to early to go and look at nurseries and sign your future baby up to one you like.

Struggling

My boy is 3 weeks and Im struggling so much. Every feed feels tense as i don't know if he'll drink calmly and then go to sleep or fuss/squirm/cry and spit up. I don't know how I'm ever going to leave the house with him like this. How do people do it? He was fussy this morning and I ended up just handing him over to my husband. Once he settled a d fell asleep I just lay in bed cuddling him, too scared to move or get up and do anything. I didn't have any breakfast and only managed to get up at lunch time as I needed to make him some more formula. I love him so much but I feel like such a useless mother.
