Not for every wee but if it’s been a while I would, especially if it’ll help encourage them take a fuller bottle/BF (eg if they’re falling asleep during feeding).
I think the guidance is 2-3 hours between feeds up until they reach birth weight. The midwife at hospital told me it’s ok to go to 4 but to then wake. We’re getting 2-3hrs currently til he naturally wakes for more milk x

Please change it if your baby wakes up restless. Nappy rash is real and over long keeping can cause nappy rash. My baby would wake up when her nappy is dirty and wont sleep or settle till it’s changed

Nope not for every wee. But my son used to poo every feed anyway so had to change multiple times a night anyway.

Until they're at their birth weight I would wake every 3 hours to feed. Once they're above birth weight and feeding well I wouldn't wake at all

Yeah newborns especially can be very sensitive and you don't want nappy rash (can get from either urine or faeces) so change it. Stripping them off also helps to wake them up so they feed well otherwise sometimes they just pass out after a few gulps! As others have said no longer than 4 hours between feeds until they are back at birth weight x

Signs for non-verbal kids

My Lo (14m) is not really saying words, it’s mostly sounds mama, baba, gaah, cah, dada etc but won’t say words and squeals at things he points at.
He makes a few animal sounds when connecting them with a certain animal but my first was saying full words like mummy and actively pointed to 70% of her body parts when I asked
I only wonder as he has two cousins who are non-verbal and I’m slightly paranoid that it could be the issue or It is just me being paranoid…
What are signs to look out for from people with experience?

Newborn Feeding on the Go: Tips, Essentials and Recommendations

Hi mums! 😊

I have a 3 weeks old newborn and would love your tips on feeding when out and about for 3–4 hours, especially on public transport.

I’m mixed-feeding, so what do you recommend for carrying breast milk or formula safely?

Any must-have products, bags or essentials you’ve found useful? Please share where you bought them, with links if possible.

I’d love to hear what’s worked for you in real life. Thank you! ❤️

Dummy questions!

After making it this far without giving a dummy, I'm finally caving (no judgement or questions please, just personal preference). Over the last month, my girl has started sucking on 2 fingers constantly to soothe herself and she's making them red raw. 2 people have told me recently that they think she cries more than the average baby and that breaks my heart thinking she's unhappy. So hence the decision to give a dummy... but i have a few random questions. Does your baby have access to a dummy all of the time, or just when you want them to start settling down? Do you find you're constantly waking in the night to put it back in before mouth if it falls out? I don't really want her to constantly have it in her mouth, ideally just to help soothe herself for naps and sleep. I understand there's a risk she might not accept a dummy this far along but with how much she loves sucking things, I think she will. I'm also however worried about creating yet another sleep association with it, as I am already pretty guilty of feeding to sleep
