My baby’s been in nursery for the last 5 months and after a long process of settling he seems happy. However, I’ve had a number of issues over this time I’ve not felt overly happy about. Now I’m at a point of considering re visiting other nurseries which feels huge knowing my sons established himself somewhere. Something that was really important to my husband and I was that the childcare setting took the babies out every so often. My son has not been out once since he started so spends 8hrs in one room. He really struggles to sleep whilst there and being in the same room for that many hours probably doesn’t help. I never get any updates in the week, never see any photos of him and on the blog posts he never appears in any photos. He has a key worker (newly assigned) but I’m not sure on the purpose of her as she’s hardly in and has never spoken to me. Then yesterday I collected him and he stunk of 💩. Got home and realised his nappy was dirty and clearly hadn’t been changed for a while. I keep telling myself as he’s happy and we’ve established our routine we are better off keeping going as changing setting is a huge decision make but I don’t know if it is worth checking a few other places out as this current one is the only one we visited originally

He’s only happy because it’s something he’s used to now. The problem described are huge problems please don’t dismiss them. Children have to be outside. 5 months and no outdoor even in the summer???? No pictures or updates on your child? Leaving your child in a soiled nappy it’s neglect. I’ve worked in multiple nurseries. Rain or shine they are outside even if it’s for 15 minutes. We had to update the blog posts with pictures and every handover we got over what was done in the day. This is awful. Change nurseries your son will thank you in the long run

Change nurseries asap. My son’s nursery is amazing, regular updates on the app including pictures, proper documentation of nappy changes also added to the app. They also do regular “observations” which is recording his progress when they notice he’s achieved something new.
They also go out regularly on walks and also have forrest school.
You need a new nursery where your son will thrive, for the amount we pay each month that’s the bare minimum, also you as a parent needs to have the upmost confidence in the people your entrusting to care for your son.
What area do you live? Do not need to be specific.

I would change nursery. That’s not right! I am a nursery worker. No matter what the weather we have to go outside even if it’s for 10 minutes. We update parents with pictures and write down what we’ve done in the morning and what we will be doing in the afternoon and update the app with the photos from the afternoon. We have sensory room, little library area and a topic room. Which is used by all children from babies to preschool. We take our children on walks regularly which they love! I would definitely look at different nurseries and would also make a complaint about current one x
I feel like I’ve slightly checked out of my relationship. We have a two year old and a 5 month old. We have had some issues in our relationship and my partner has mentioned a few times how he is desperate for affection and attention and jokes about seeking it else where but it quickly becomes serious. This plus many other issues have pushed me away. I’m breastfeeding and don’t have much interest in sex or even kissing. When he touches me my whole body tenses up and he keeps pushing me further away. I feel bad for him but it’s also a result of how he has treated me. I’ve been thinking recently how we just are not aligned. I want to go out and do nice family things together but he doesn’t want too and is just not a fun person. Like I am a very lively happy go lucky person and he has turned me into a quiet girl that never sees friends etc. I feel like we are on different waves and just holding onto hope😩
So basically the way he has treated me along with his personality traits got me confused. Any advice or words of love would be greatly appreciated ☹️♥️

I had the worst day with my 3m old. She literally cried non-stop and was super fussy, she’s had a tummy bug today so that’s probably why. My partner came home we had a tiny bicker but it resolved itself in like 2 minutes. She was then fussy and only wanted me till he did the bed time routine. I asked him if we could watch something even just an episode before we go to bed because I know he has work so doesn’t want to go to bed too late. He responded “no I’m gonna read”. I said “please I had the worst day and my anxiety is through the roof, I keep feeling anxious every time she’s sick” (FTM btw). He said if you’re anxious you can talk to other people or if you’re that stressed call the GP. While I know they are valid options and suggestions, it just felt so dismissive.
I really have struggled with anxiety all my life, especially as a child, rocky childhood etc and I feel like it’s elevated with having a baby (I’m always at home with her during the week alone). I’m going to bring it up to my GP at my next appointment, but I do feel so neglected by the situation with my partner. He is doing what he wants meanwhile I haven’t had a single interaction with a human that speaks back to me all day.
I just left him to put the little one to sleep but inside I feel so hurt and pretty isolated. I’m not sure if I’m just being overly sensitive but it sucks.

ftm here, i feel so guilty typing this out, i went to my kitchen to get a sterilised bottle ready for his feed, i put him on my bed but in the moment looking back it seemed careless but i wasn’t gone more than 20 seconds, normally if i place him on the bed and he’s in the middle he doesn’t roll off he does roll but not double roll, i didn’t expect to come inside and see him screaming on the floor i was gone 20 seconds if that. i picked him up instantly and he went quiet and calmed down back to his happy self and gave him the milk. anyone else done something like this and felt so guilty, it definitely taught me that sometimes babies surprise you with new tricks🥲

My husband’s car broke down yesterday, so it’s currently in the shop getting fixed. This morning, I drove him to work. He normally starts at 7 a.m., but because I also have to take our son to school, I asked him if he could start a little later. He had no issue with that at the time.
Now tonight, his boss, who lives near us, offered to give him a ride to work, and his dad also offered because they’re heading in the same direction. Despite having those options, he’s insisting that I take him and that he needs to be at work for 7 a.m.
I asked him why, because that would mean I’d have to wake up around 5 a.m. and wake up both kids, including a baby and a toddler, just to drive him to work before taking our son to school. When I tried to explain why that would be difficult for me, he started going off on me, saying I make his life difficult.
I eventually got fed up and cussed him out too, because I was tired of being spoken to like that when I was simply trying to explain my situation. Now he’s stomping around, huffing and puffing, throwing a fit, and I’ve just walked away because I don’t want to keep arguing.
What frustrates me the most is that I’m already trying to help him out while his car is being repaired. He has two other people offering him rides, but somehow I’m the one making his life difficult because I can’t accommodate the exact time he wants. I have two young children to take care of, and my time and sleep matter too. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect him to consider that instead of making me feel guilty for not doing everything his way.

For those with 2 or more children, what are you doing with your rainy days to keep them entertained.
Luckily our May baby is doing well at sitting and so is part of things when In her high chair which is helpful now. I’m struggling to keep them both entertained when we’re home all day, especially when the weather is rubbish and we can’t go to the park. There’s not a lot of things I feel confident doing out of the house with 2 on my own yet, wondering if I just need to push myself or if I’m overthinking it! Any help appreciated.
