I honestly need to vent because I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted. đź’”
I'm a mom trying to rebuild my life, and I feel like I can't even get a moment of peace. My daughter's father constantly comes to me with his problems, expects me to help him financially, and now wants me to help pay his rent. When I don't, he makes me feel guilty, as if I'm responsible for the position he's in.
What makes this situation even harder is that I'm struggling myself. I'm trying to get on my feet, provide for my daughter, figure out my living situation, and keep pushing forward despite everything I've been through. I'm not in a position where I can just take on someone else's financial responsibilities. I'm trying to survive and rebuild my own life.
But somehow, I'm made to feel like the bad person for saying no.
And it's not just the guilt. He constantly threatens me, too. It's emotionally draining to feel pressured to help someone while also being afraid of how they might react when you don't. I'm trying to move forward from this relationship, but it feels like I can't get free from the emotional pressure, the guilt, and the fear.
Sometimes I ask myself, how did I get here? Why do I feel responsible for someone else's decisions when I'm already carrying so much on my own? I know I need boundaries, but it's hard when the person putting you through this is your child's father.
I don't want to live in survival mode anymore. I want peace. I want to focus on my daughter, rebuild my life, and stop feeling like I have to save someone else at the expense of myself.
Has anyone else experienced this with their child's father? How did you deal with the guilt, the threats, and the feeling that you're still trapped in a situation you desperately want to move on from?
I'm not looking for judgment. I'm genuinely looking for advice and support from moms who have been through something similar. I just want to know I'm not alone. 🤍

I am fortune enough to have a supportive husband, but I have been through this with my biological father. Being constantly made to feel bad because "he raised me". Which he didnt. He was a drunk and was gone most of my life. But he is going to therapy so he thinks that should give him an automatic redemption pass. I get it. It absolutely sucks. Its so hard to draw a line and protect that line when you care about people that dont share the same understanding and sentiment for you.

You can’t take care of no one until you can take care of yourself. And you also have a child you have to provide for. His problems are not yours, especially if you guys are not under the same roof. Set boundaries; if the conversation isn’t about y’all daughter, there is nothing else to discuss.

Very true. I try to live by the "oxygen mask rule". You have to put your mask on before you help someone put their's on. Can't help someone else if you arent breathing.

Whatever happens make sure you document everything. Just to be on the safe side.
My baby’s been in nursery for the last 5 months and after a long process of settling he seems happy. However, I’ve had a number of issues over this time I’ve not felt overly happy about. Now I’m at a point of considering re visiting other nurseries which feels huge knowing my sons established himself somewhere. Something that was really important to my husband and I was that the childcare setting took the babies out every so often. My son has not been out once since he started so spends 8hrs in one room. He really struggles to sleep whilst there and being in the same room for that many hours probably doesn’t help. I never get any updates in the week, never see any photos of him and on the blog posts he never appears in any photos. He has a key worker (newly assigned) but I’m not sure on the purpose of her as she’s hardly in and has never spoken to me. Then yesterday I collected him and he stunk of 💩. Got home and realised his nappy was dirty and clearly hadn’t been changed for a while. I keep telling myself as he’s happy and we’ve established our routine we are better off keeping going as changing setting is a huge decision make but I don’t know if it is worth checking a few other places out as this current one is the only one we visited originally

My husband’s car broke down yesterday, so it’s currently in the shop getting fixed. This morning, I drove him to work. He normally starts at 7 a.m., but because I also have to take our son to school, I asked him if he could start a little later. He had no issue with that at the time.
Now tonight, his boss, who lives near us, offered to give him a ride to work, and his dad also offered because they’re heading in the same direction. Despite having those options, he’s insisting that I take him and that he needs to be at work for 7 a.m.
I asked him why, because that would mean I’d have to wake up around 5 a.m. and wake up both kids, including a baby and a toddler, just to drive him to work before taking our son to school. When I tried to explain why that would be difficult for me, he started going off on me, saying I make his life difficult.
I eventually got fed up and cussed him out too, because I was tired of being spoken to like that when I was simply trying to explain my situation. Now he’s stomping around, huffing and puffing, throwing a fit, and I’ve just walked away because I don’t want to keep arguing.
What frustrates me the most is that I’m already trying to help him out while his car is being repaired. He has two other people offering him rides, but somehow I’m the one making his life difficult because I can’t accommodate the exact time he wants. I have two young children to take care of, and my time and sleep matter too. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect him to consider that instead of making me feel guilty for not doing everything his way.

Hey mommas!
I really need advice.. I have been with my spouse/father of my kids for almost 8 years. I don’t know if I’m crazy but I came to realize I’m not inlove with him anymore.. he has recently been drinking a lot, he’s an alcoholic and he knows he needs help but doesn’t want to go to therapy nor go to a meeting at he doesn’t want to do it for his own kids not for himself. I’m so tired of matching sure my kids are happy and keeping the house clean. I basically deal with our kids more than he does, it so rare when he changes one of our youngest diapers. He says that he’s never done anything wrong. And mommas let me tell you I’m currently unemployed and he’s the one working but somehow still complaining about everything! “ oh I hate my life, I stress out to much oh this and that “ but I’ve noticed that when I have a job he doesn’t tell me “ do you got money for this or is this coming out of you pocket “ and yet when I’m unemployed he starts to say it. It’s hard to even get a job now that we found out our 2 year old is autistic and needs his therapies.. I’m the one making sure that keeps happening for him.. I’m just so alone and I want to go back to CA ..

Typically, how much does your mommy’s helper charge you? Is it hourly? A flat rate no matter the hours?
