How do you talk to your kids about their grandparents breaking promises and being uninvolved? They broke a promise to spend time with my son after missing his birthday and party. They did have a good reason for missing it, but it feels like they always make empty promises and spend more time with my nephew. I was stupid and told my son they were coming before they canceled and now I feel awful doing that to him.

Following because I am going through the same thing!

I had a firm conversation with my FIL and basically asked if he wanted to be a grandpa or just their dad’s dad. He made his choice and we stopped trying to include him.

I just do my best to keep the topic off of making plans around my kids, if my mom wants to make plans to do something w/them she’ll usually forget to say anything more than “we’re going to start getting together more often”, then be forced to call me later. We’re a ND family & my now 5yo is still at that stage where he’s extra excitable & my mom is pretty used to having conversations interrupted bc she spends a lot of time w/my brother, niece & autistic nephew, plus my other younger brother was ADHD & they didn’t know it but I’m AuDHD & OCD, but she’s been around since I was 11, bf I learned to count bf speaking so I wasn’t “rude”, suspects nothing, when I lead the conversation elsewhere. If I say anything about it or question if she’s serious, she’ll just cry & say a bunch of BS about it being my fault. My hubs agreed to keep his mouth shut for my dad, bc of his health & wanting his fam happy, but he passed a couple yrs ago, so now I’m more careful bc my hubs is very protective of us.
I have a 2 year old and a one month year old. My two year old has become so distant from me it’s breaking my heart as he was so clingy and so attached to me. Through out pregnancy and since the day he was born he has done everything with me. I’ve struggled getting him to eat with anyone, fall asleep with anyone not even his dad. Recently my mother inlaw has been taking him to stay at hers and she been taking him out a lot. As grateful as I am for this it has made me feel so down as he does not want to come back home he been crying and will run to her. I’ve balled my eyes out many times feeling like I’ve lost my boy. I’m currently at my mother’s house as my stitches are opened from my surgery and I need help. My lil one’s been with his dad and although I’ve constantly said please bring him here after nursery I want to go spend time with him I’ve felt like it’s never been done. I just feel like my little one is very different towards me and won’t even come to me I feel awful I can not explain it’s making me so depressed and sad !

Toddler is 22 months and I’ve been with my partner coming up ten years. We are having a recurring issue where he complains about lack of intimacy and affection, but only tells me after the fact so he’s already deeply upset and annoyed by this point.
The crux of this is that I love him. Funny, smart, great dad etc etc. I just - genuinely - forget about intimacy and affection sometimes. Like I’ve been at work, done dinner bath bed, we sit down and watch tv and it’s like my brain never stops to think “this could be a nice moment for a cuddle”. He resents the idea he should / could simply remind me and help get me out of my own head, which is something I suggested.
It’s been 8 days since we last had sex (usually once a week minimum) because of illness and a family weekend away in between.
So I suppose my question is - has anyone else been through similar and come out the other side? Is it worth us getting a relationship therapist / counsellor to work through it? I am genuinely scared he’s going to leave.

Can anyone shed some light on why for 2 years now iv been saying to my husband to leave the door open to the bedroom when he leaves to go to bed. He sleeps in another room to me and i keep the door open so i can hear the kids/my daughter can come in if she wakes. Most nights ill be in bed lights out going to sleep and he will nicely come and say good night and shut the door… i used to say every time, leave it open and the past couple months iv just got out of bed and opened it but WHY why have i told him appox 730 times and he still closes the door…. Someone pleaseeeeeeee.
Its obv not the only thing iv been saying on repeat but this is the daily one. And it’s honestly i think going to make me start hating him

I am a first time mom
And I could really love some tips to help me start labor, I’m due October 25
But my husband work leave ends Sunday that same day.
He needs to go back to work Monday and Tuesday
So I want to try to see if I could have the baby before the weekend
My doctor performed a membrane sweep
And even tho it felt like I was going to have the baby in the following hour I’m here, Fine!
No contractions 😭🤣 and my husband requested he’s leave already
I’ve heard of the curbside walk
Is there anything else that has work for any of yall?
I might have to schedule an induction on Friday if nothing works (yes the baby is 100% healthy, ready and positioned, is just my body holding on ♥️
For me is very important he’s there with me
Since I have no one else, I’m scared and worried to be alone
I could cry a river if I go through this by my self.

I am absolutely petrified of feeding baby anything other milk. It's really getting me down and feel like an awful mother. I started him on 4 months Ella's pouches. He liked a couple of them, he turned 6 months so I gave him a 6 months pouch and he gagged really bad and projectile vomited everywhere, I tried a new flavour a few days later, same thing. Tried him on home cooked mashed up food, same thing happened. Gave him a melty puff thing, same thing.. I'm now just refusing to give him food of any kind as I am petrified of it happening again. My heart literally can't take the look on his face as he gags, my metal state of panicking when it happens... I did a baby solids course and really didn't help me.... I don't know what to do. 😭
