help :(

hi 🤍 ftm to my almost 2 month old. i choose to breastfeed and bottle feed but i don’t have a consistent schedule. i’ve been doing either or, based upon the time
of day, how much milk i have stored, or how fussy my baby is. i also co-sleep at times but other times he will sleep in his bassinet. but now im realizing the only way he is soothed is by being on my chest or immediately getting breastfed or by the bottle (eating.) i cant really sit him down anywhere anymore for more than 5-10 minutes before he starts crying again. he also doesn’t really rely on pacifiers or like being in his swing that long anymore (he used to love it without crying). i love that he’s attached to me, but i also want to know how to have him be soothed in other ways for when i choose to stop breastfeeding, put him in his crib in his room, travel and need family to watch him, need to run an errand, do anything around the house, etc. any tips or ideas ?

Hi, I don't really have any advice for that age because we were exactly the same! However, my LO is now 5 months old and I honestly think because of all of the comfort and feeds he got in those tough early days is why he can self soothe now! He still needs comfort feeding and lots of snuggles but over time he has just got better. If he wakes up on transfer now, 9/10 times he puts himself back to sleep. I hope someone has some tips for you for this stage though because I remember how tough it was.

Have you tried a wrap carrier? My boy was hit and miss with them at that point but I know a lot of others swear by them!

I don't have much advice either, my girl was the same from birth. She didn't like to be put down at all, wouldn't sleep in her moses basket or cot, still will only nap with contact naps. The 2 month mark was tough, any time she was put down she cried and fussed so bad, but would sleep happily in her cot at night, there's a bit of a growth spurt going on at this stage and they're becoming more and more aware of the world around them, which could maybe feel a bit scary. Now at 3 months, she's more settled spending time in her chair when we're in the kitchen and floor play when we're in the living room - she'll even go back in her cot and let me get a quick shower in the mornings now. Your little one might just be going through a phase of needing a little more support and comfort and will hopefully come back round. Sending love ❤️

This is completely normal at this age - babies don't even start to self soothe until they are 3-4 months!

First 12 weeks is fourth trimester , nothing you can do will spoil them. You're the bridge to the world. Grieth spurts, mental leaps and adjusting to not hearing your heartbeat, smelling your smell and feeling your touch is all so different.

It's tough, but honestly bub sounds so normal and you sound like you're doing brilliantly, baby led all the way!

Colic/ Witching hour /PURPLE crying

My daughter is 6 weeks and we’re dealing with the inconsolable crying in the evenings. Some call it witching hour/colic/PURPLE crying. Anyone have any success getting relief for their babies? I’m desperate to help my little girl feeling better

Sleep

anyone else’s baby just a nightmare to get to sleep? (She’s nearly 7 weeks) Constantly overtired cause she just won’t fall asleep, she don’t even like contact naps. She don’t go sleep in the evening until 10-11 cause she fights for hours. Absolutely losing my head!

Sleep

Is there a 6m sleep regression? 6m old usually falls asleep so easily while breastfeeding but nothing seems to be working recently. Also, same with naps, awake for much longer
