Getting baby home?

Me and my partner already have a 1yr old and im due in a few weeks but we aren’t sure how to get baby home. We don’t have a car and we aren’t sure if the hospital will let us go home in the train (10 min ride) using our double pram. Because in a taxi it’s a whole 40 min drive. Any help?

If you live within walking distance then you can push baby home in the pram. They can’t deny you that, so long as you have baby secure in a pram. They do not allow you to leave holding baby, that’s all I remember.

I think it’s best to take this through with your midwife, as the advice changes depending on the trust. They’ll be concerned about your recovery too xx

Every hospital has their own rules on it because where I work in neonates we allow parents who don’t have a car to use buggy if that’s what’s easiest for them and then we’re I am giving birth at st Thomas they allow whatever is easiest to bring baby home so I would definitely agree with heather by speaking to your midwife and see what they say

Should I say something to the school?

My husband has a childhood friend that has schizophrenia or something and of course he thinks he’s totally normal and doesn’t take meds. My FIL took him in off the street and got him a job trying to help him. Well the other day he asked my husband randomly where our oldest child goes to school. I have no idea why he asked and my husband didn’t ask him. He didn’t tell him of course.

Now the guy has lost his job and it must’ve been something bad because the owner chased him out. I feel like things are escalating with his mental health and Now I’m worried because he’s free all day, I’m afraid he’s going to try something with my child and his school. I’m sure he could find out if he put his mind to it.

I’m thinking about telling the school. What do you all think? Am I overreacting? It was literally just that one question but he had absolutely no reason to ask, and when my husband didn’t tell him he said “I find it more odd that you won’t tell me”. So he’s got something going on and I’m worried.

Food suggestions for postpartum

Food suggestions for postpartum
Hey everyone! I’m coming on here to see if anyone has any suggestions for easy foods, snacks, and drinks I could have my husband pick up for me to keep in the bedroom while I recover postpartum.
Next week, on October 28th, I’m being induced and will finally get to meet our little boy! My doctor has told me that I’ll need to be on bed rest for a few weeks, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom. I want to make sure I have things available to eat and drink throughout the day, especially when my husband isn’t home and I get hungry.
We have a mini fridge in our bedroom, so I’m looking for easy snacks, drinks, and simple foods that I can keep nearby and eat without having to get out of bed or do much preparation.
If anyone has any recommendations for postpartum-friendly snacks, easy meals, or drinks that would be good to have on hand during recovery, I’d really appreciate it! I want to be as prepared as possible before our little man arrives so I can focus on healing and spending time with him. Thank you!

Debating moving to the other side of the world?!

Anyone else debated moving to Australia for the better life balance?

Me & my husband are 28 and 34 and we have an 11 month old baby. My husband is plumber in the UK and he is working 6/7 days a week and over 12 hour days, he really hasn’t been around much. I would love to move to Australia so he could be around more, the better outdoor lifestyle for our baby boy as well. The UK is just miserable in the winter and it makes it hard getting out as we live in the countryside. Also this country is going to shit and I just think we’d be better off financially over there as well as my salary is triple over there. I get Australia have their own issues like housing crisis etc but it doesn’t seem as bad from friends & family over there compared to here.

Anyone else thinking the same?

Baby no.2

Just looking for a some opinions/advice.. our little boy has just turned 18 months and me and my partner are desperate to start trying for baby no.2.. my partner works full time, I work 3 days a week.. we are just worried about money.. both our money gets eaten up each month with mortgage, bills and essential we barley have anything left over.. when we fell pregnant with our first it was the a bit of a surprise and we panicked so much on how we could make it work - we had just bought our house but 2 years later and we did it! He’s the best thing ever and my heart wants to give him a sibling but is that selfish?? We’ve got so much if our firsts baby things so we wouldn’t be starting again and I know more now what we would use and what is a waste of money? So we can keep the cost lower… idk is anyone else in or have been in this position?? Realistically are we ever going to be financially stable enough for more babies??
