I had health visitor round the other day and my son gained weight but dropped in percentile, she told me that I should wake him up in the night for more feeds, as apparently he shouldn’t be going 4-5 without a feed? Am I in the wrong for this? I feel bad for waking him up and for a feed and got a toddler to deal with aswell and I feel if start waking up more and more in evening I’m going to go really sleep deprived and feel useless mum to my toddler, as when I lack sleep it makes me really unwell.
But I also thought was okay to let a baby sleep 4-5 hours… anyway? Am I wrong again? Please give me advice x
I never had this problem with my toddler, he was always on track, this was first time, and health visitor made me anxious as hell, and made me feel like useless mum I don’t think she realised that she trigger me. My moods just changed from happy to useless as I’m suffering depression from my bad experience from hospital and c section not healing right.

My 3 week old has been gaining weight and the midwife said that it’s ok to let him sleep for 4 hour stretches, but recommended waking him after 4ish hours. She told me that if he’s still gaining weight at 6 weeks old then I can let him sleep through longer.

We were advised to wake ours up every 3hrs but since he gained his birthweight back after his 1 month visit we’re told we can let him sleep and he regularly goes 4-5 hrs.
But I also know a couple (both wife and hubby are doctors, though not pediatricians) who ignored this advice from day 1 and let their baby sleep as much as it wanted.
Was it a very dramatic drop in percentile? Maybe you could get another opinion?

My little girl had her 6-week check 2 weeks ago and she’s gained weight but dropped in centile. She’s sleeping 7 hours some nights and the midwife told me to wake her to feed her. However I won’t be doing that as some nights she wakes for feeding multiple times she knows when she’s hungry and lets me know about it. I’m due to go see the health visitor on the 3rd of November for a weigh in but they also told me her weight wasn’t anything to be concerned about as she isn’t far off. Don’t help she did the biggest wee before getting weighed 😂

Baby's growth is not linear, if he's gaining weight and nappy output is good, let him (and yourself) sleep, you can't force a baby to eat more, they're super instinctive and know when they're hungry/full.
Also, health visitors are not medical professionals, and it can be really hit and miss whether or not they're good, if you're worried about your kid, talk to the doctor, if your gut tells you they're better off asleep, trust that and keep doing what you're doing!
Does he get a sandwich plus 3 other items? Does he take care of himself? My husband's been so weird (back and forth) about this issue and I can't figure out if it's my problem or his.

Hi everyone,
I want to put this out there to see what other mums think and whether or not I’m being mean to have these thoughts. Last night me and my partner were talking about our finances/debts and the debt we took out whilst I was on MAT leave. The conversation ended with us re jigging how we pay things and now we’re not splitting our money (which was his idea to begin with) and he said he will start to attack our debts and that means he’s chucking more of his money into our joint debts and how that’s what he’s doing for us. Am I wrong for not feeling super grateful as the reason we’re in this debt and the reason we originally put our money together is because we agreed to have a child. It feels like he’s saying oh I’m so great to our relationship because I’m paying off more of our debts - when in reality he earns over 20k more than me a year & we took out these debts on the basis of our incomes being put together?? I don’t know I just need some other opinions on this please haha

It’s not all men but it does happen!
Hi, I’m Kate. I went through a separation almost 6 months ago after being a stay at home mom for 5 years. I have a degree in biology. I tried to get a job for two years but my ex told me no. Now that we split up, I looked for jobs for months with no one responding to my emails or applications. When employers find out I haven’t worked in 5 years, they don’t call back. The jobs who will hire me, do not pay enough to cover even half of my bills or childcare. So I’m coming on here to just remind you ladies that yes, many husbands are amazing and supportive and will take the weight. And if something happens, you will still be protected. But not all husbands or partners will do that. I’m guessing most will not. So please, if you have a partner who has never been a good provider, if your relationship is rocky. Get a job. Get a remote job. Get a side gig JUST IN CASE. I’m now relying on my little hobby-turned business to make enough money to pay bills and it is a slow slow process. Everyday is stressful. Every bill is late. I should have found remote work years ago as a backup when I knew in my heart that someday I would leave. Take care of yourselves ladies. You’re already taking the load of childcare and everything else so I know it’s a lot, but if you have any doubt at all about your relationship, make sure you have a plan! Don’t be like me

We have been potty training since Sunday and he was doing so well and even taking himself at some points
Now today he just won’t sit on it or anything he’s having lots of accidents and even pooing in his pants.
I don’t know what I’m meant to do
