Bloods

Anyone didn’t have a blood test before their c section? Did you have blood taken from your cannula? What happened? As I always reject blood tests but I have cream to put on before cannula so hopefully I don’t feel it

yes everyone needs a blood test 1-2 days before c section :)

You'll need blood tests before a C-section, no credible surgeon will operate without recent labs - it's unsafe. You can use the cream for blood draws, we use it in pediatrics regularly- it won't affect any results.

You will 100% have a blood draw. Very very important they have your hemoglobin levels so they can monitor you during and after the procedure. My doctor also always puts in two IVs in case needed for a blood transfusion

C-Section Mummies

How much are you all getting up to around 2 weeks post birth? I know everyone's recovery is so different it's hard to compare but I'm really scared about overdoing it and causing problems, but on the other hand am feeling well and feel like I could maybe be doing more than I am! I feel like the anxiety of doing too much is stopping me from really doing anything at all 🙈

Early symptoms

Anyone else have symptoms early on?
I was making breakfast the other day and felt so nauseous!
I took a test later that day and it was positive at 4 weeks and 1 day
Before that I noticed the usual premenstrual symptoms like headaches and tender breasts but the nausea was new

Anyone else have any early symptoms?

Nausea

7 and half weeks pregnant and nausea is absolutely killing me. I feel nauseous from the moment I open my eyes to the moment I go to sleep. I have anti sickness off the GP which are doing absolutely nothing and I can’t see light at the end of the tunnel😢 is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Feel like I know nothing

Anyone else just feel out of the loop with their pregnancy?
My first was born in 2021 and even with all the COVID restrictions I felt like I saw the midwife a lot more, got told what percentile baby was measuring at 20 week scan, had the red book with all baby's info in and got updates on positioning/size at midwife appointments.
This time I have literally spoke to a midwife twice and I'm 26 weeks, had both my NHS scans but yet have no paperwork, there is next to no information on the badger notes app and I know nothing about baby's size ect.

Is this the norm now or is there something I'm missing?
