Someone tell me how you do it all

Please share your tips and tricks - I have a 4 month old, a 3.5 year old, 2 dogs, I’m on maternity leave and I’m drowning! I cannot imagine what I will be like if I go back to work! Fortunately the baby is pretty chilled if she wasn’t I’m not sure how I would survive. This time round we are prioritising my sleep so I go to sleep when toddler does and partner keeps baby so I can get a stretch. This means I don’t have evenings and have even less hours in the day. I can barely keep on top of the basics like dishes, washing tidying up so I never get onto the bigger jobs. I’ve started to get a cleaner every now and then. I do my main food shop online for delivery. I only make quick teas now. We have booked a holiday and I’ve barely got time to order organise and pack the cases! (Hoping we’ve done the right thing booking a holiday) we spend weekends trying to sort the house but also trying to spend time together as a family it’s just a shit show. Toddler is feeling it with baby so also try to give her a lot of our attention. Can anyone share their routine? I don’t know if we just have too much stuff and need a huge clear out but again getting the time to do it is so hard and don’t get me started on the state of my car

I’ve got two under two, and I find you really have to have systems and plan ahead where you can. For example, I have a station set up in the lounge where I can feed the baby while watching and playing with my toddler.

I have ways of playing with my toddler that don’t involve using my hands. For example, I play animal noises through my phone speaker, and he has to guess what the animals are. I can also direct him to different coloured cones around the room.

Where possible, I try to prepare food in batches. As well as batch cooking, I keep plenty of fruit cut up and ready to go, so I don’t have to spend time doing that later.

I have ways of putting the baby down in the kitchen so I can get things done while he’s there. I have a highchair for him and toys to keep him distracted.

I look for efficient ways to do everything, and I question the cost of things if they take up my time. I make things good enough, not perfect, and make sure I don’t let perfect become the enemy of good.

I’ve got frozen corn and peas in the freezer too, and things like that that I can quickly add to a meal for a healthy side. I used to spend hours cooking.

I also have my toddler in nursery three days a week. When people come to visit, I don’t give them my full attention—I hand them the baby and get on with what I need to do!

I also found an app that lets you have a to-do list that my husband can also access so we put everything we have to do on there and we can flag the priorities so we both work together on the most important things as before we had that he would try and help but he would just be doing stuff that was not a priority and I found that really frustrating cause then I was left with all the high priority stuff, but it's cause we had didn't have a system for communicating it so that app has been really helpful

This post is not meant to talk down on anyone...

One thing that makes me super proud as a parent is having a full fridge and pantry.

Like I said.. I am not talking down on anyone.. As a child I grew up with barely any food in the house and I never wanted my children to have that.

Halloween trick or treating was good until not. Any insight appreciated.

We had a good Halloween night except towards the end my spicy 6 yr old started acting angry and began running away from me and my husband. We were near streets so I started feeling scared she would run into the street as she wouldn’t take my hand or her father’s. Then it escalated as well because her father was getting frustrated she kept running away from us even more and we just didn’t know how she would react if we got closer. So he began raising his tone and I began telling him to lower his voice because it wasn’t helping. People around us were noticing and I began feeling overwhelmed (our first time dealing with a meltdown this way with her). So then luckily her father was able to reach her and carry her even though she was kicking and yelling. We also don’t drive so we were waiting on our uber, however that was a bad idea. She was semi quiet in the car but she began talking to us in a demanding voice that led to aggression towards us. She began pushing our face with her hands. Ofc we tried to parent in that moment but that wasn’t working. Also, I was beginning to see my husband was becoming highly frustrated with her so I tried to diffuse the situation to no avail. So then, Uber driver turned to us and said he would pull over and drop us off on the side of the route if we didn’t stop. He said this is bad energy and I don’t want that in my car. I also don’t tolerate bratty kids in my car. I immediately simply said we understood simply because I wanted to get home already and didn’t have energy to say anything back. But it seemed that my girl also settled down right after that as much as it pained me to hear the driver call her bratty. Which she is not, but of course outside perspective only sees one small window of what’s happening. However, once we arrived home we had time separately to reflect and our daughter came to apologize and we had a working conversation. I just felt so horrible that the driver said what he said and that the people from where we tricked or treated also saw us in those moments probably thinking we were being horrible to our kid but when your kid’s safety is in question all parenting tools go out the window.

Just a rant no one to talk to.
Am I being sensitive or reasonable?

I feel so alone and it’s very overwhelming. I just planned special dates and a surprise party this whole week for my boyfriend’s birthday; which was on Halloween because he hadn’t been feeling like himself lately. He told me “thank you this is the most effort, anybody has ever put into me.” I don’t feel appreciated though. Maybe my hormones are just getting the best of me rn, I’m currently pregnant with my 2nd.

Guilt tripped

My husband guilt trips me
For anything that I do if I do not do it with my 19 month old son. My family has a business and I am part of it so that means sometimes I have to work Saturdays yet take a day off the week. Mind you I can also take off anytime if my sons needs me or I need to attend to him. Working on a Saturday to him is “abandoning” both him and my son. This is a constant situation. I am so tired of listening to it and why I never really take time for “ME”

Any advice?
