Freinds??

I am 32 weeks with a little boy and due on December 28th and all the people I class as my mates have ran off and left me and that is me putting it nicely. Living in a HMO where if people wanna come to my room they need ID and hardly any of my mates wanna visit or if I hang out with anyone I'm having to pay.

I’m due the same day as you!! I get how you feel I lived in supported accommodation where visitors had to bring ID to come round and see me. If you want to message me please feel free 😊

Bestie where are you?

I’m Elizabeth but I go by Libby! I’m a Libra / 40 yr old mama looking to make a bestie. It’s weird cuz back in my prime lol I had all kinds of friends back in school but guess when we get older and married and have kids people go different ways. So now here I am trying to make a bestie. I’m a chill lay back goofy girlie who loves 90’s R&B and good food and wine. I cuss a lot and tattoo up. Not religious. Not knocking the ones who are just not me. So if ya think we make a good fit to become friends shoot me a message.

KIT DAYS/return to work

Hi mamas, I just need a bit of advice! 🤍

My last maternity pay is this month, and my maternity leave ends at the end of February. I’m planning to use my annual leave afterwards, so I’ll probably be returning to work around April.

How did you get in touch with your manager to discuss your KIT days and flexible working request before going back?

I’ve not heard from my manager in a while, but I do have his number and want to reach out to arrange my KIT days, discuss flexible working, and ask about adding my annual leave onto the end of my maternity leave.

As my last pay is this month, I’m thinking of starting my KIT days in December. How does the pay work? Do you get paid in the same month you do the KIT days, or does it depend on the employer?

Also, if anyone has any advice on what to say when I message my manager, I’d really appreciate it. I think I’m probably overthinking it Thank you! ❤️

Birth control

I went to my postpartum appointment today and they brought up birth control, I’ve never been on any kind of birth control before so what are some things I should know before getting on. I’m breastfeeding and also pumping so I don’t want my supply to drop if possible.

Tteokbokki

I made gyudon (Japanese beef bowl), but it felt a bit heavy/greasy, so I was craving something spicy and refreshing! So, I'm having tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) for my meal

Ingredients
Rice or wheat cakes (Tteok): 100g
Ramen noodles: 1/2 pack (or a whole pack if you prefer, just add about 1/2 cup extra water)
Square fish cake: 1 sheet (cut into bite-sized pieces)
Cabbage: 1 large leaf (thinly shredded lengthwise)
Onion: 1/4 (sliced)
Carrot: a small handful (thinly sliced into ribbons or strips, approx. 20g)
Water: 400ml (approx. 1.7 cups)
Sauce Ingredients
Gochujang (Korean chili paste): 1 heaping tbsp
Gochugaru (Korean chili powder): 0.5 – 1 tbsp (adjust for extra kick)
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Soy sauce: 0.5 tbsp (balances the extra moisture from veggies and noodles)
Corn syrup or oligodang: 0.5 tbsp (for the signature glossy finish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the broth & carrots
In a shallow pot, add 400ml of water along with the gochujang (1 tbsp), gochugaru (0.5–1 tbsp), sugar (1 tbsp), and soy sauce (0.5 tbsp). Whisk well to dissolve the paste. Add the sliced carrots first, then bring the broth to a boil.
2. Add rice cakes, onions, cabbage & fish cakes
Once the broth boils, add the rice cakes, sliced onions, thinly shredded cabbage, and fish cakes. Let it simmer over medium heat for about 2 to 3 minutes so the vegetables soften and impart their natural sweetness into the broth.
3. Add the ramen noodles
Add the ramen noodles to the pot. Gently loosen the noodles with tongs or chopsticks as they cook. Since the noodles absorb the liquid quickly, stir gently to make sure they do not stick to the bottom.
4. The glossy finish (Kwon Sang-woo’s signature touch)
Once the noodles are perfectly chewy and the sauce thickens into a glossy coat, drizzle 0.5 tbsp of corn syrup right before turning off the stove. Give it a gentle final stir to lock in that nostalgic street-food shine and deep savoriness.

"Personally, I love shredding the cabbage into long, thin strips instead of chopping it into chunks. That way, the strands tangle up with the ramen noodles like extra noodles, clinging to the sauce and adding the most satisfying texture to every single bite!"

Bestie, where are you?

I'm one month postpartum and looking for a friend to get through motherhood with. This is my second baby but things feel different this go round. I'm located in Georgia but I know we are all located all over the world so long distance is okay. Feel free to message me and don't be shy 🩷🩷
