C section tomorrow

I have my c section scheduled for tomorrow. I’m scared and excited at the same time. I don’t know if I’m missing anything to do before the operation.

Scheduled c section was the best thing ever!!!

Good luck! Before you go in, make sure you are stocked up on ibuprofen and Tylenol - you’ll want to stay on top of pain meds. For many, over the counter is plenty, but you need to take them around the clock. (I’m sorry I always forget the words for these meds in other countries, but you get the gist)

Also be sure to put anything you may need to access on your own about waist height or higher. If you don’t have some snacks and meals prepped, delegate that out and be sure someone brings you some food over the next week or so!

You are going to do great :)

I think I was told not to eat around 8 hours before my operation but this is all I remember from when I had my c-sections. You should give your midwife a call and go over last minute questions with her.

For after, make sure you have everything you need in reach without having to move, I was bed bound pretty much for the first week. Two weeks in a nd I am up and about almost as usual.
Congratulations and good luck.
You are in for a treat just enjoy all the newborn cuddles.
And for the operation itself I don’t think you really need to prepare anything. Mine was an emergency one so I never prepared anything at all.

Ahhh, I’m having mine tomorrow too!! 🥹💗 I’m feeling exactly the same way, excited to finally meet my little girl but also a little nervous about the whole experience, although I’ve had an emergency CS with my first daughter😂💗
Honestly, I’ve been reminding myself that we’ve done the hard part already, and tomorrow we get to meet our babies! 😭❤️
Make sure you’ve got your hospital bag ready, comfy high waisted underwear, loose clothes to come home in and some things to keep you comfortable afterwards. Don’t worry too much about having absolutely everything, the hospital will help you with what you need.
One thing I’ve been telling myself is that we don’t need to rush recovery. Take the pain relief you’re prescribed, get help when you need it and let yourself be looked after.
Wishing you the smoothest surgery and recovery, mama! Maybe we’ll both be cuddling our little girls this time tomorrow! 🥹💕 We’ve got this!!

Take something for you to do while you wait. It can be a long morning if you’re not in first in the queue and having a distraction will help with the nerves but honestly the surgery will be sooo much easier and less scary than you think. Recovery is a pain but take all the pain meds they give you and have people in place to help afterwards for as long as possible. Take plenty of snacks for after the surgery. I had my little boy over lunch time and had been fasting since 8 pm night before we were offered food until 6pm from the hospital as we’d missed lunch so snacks were very needed I was starving. But good luck! You will be fine :)

DO NOT SKIP THE STOOL SOFTENERS AFTER! I did and almost ended up back in the hospital a week later lol
Also if a nurse or the anesthesiologist assistant or someone offers to take pictures (including of the gory stuff) take them up on it. You can always not look at them later or even delete them if you don't like the sight of blood which is what I thought id end up doing, I actually originally declined her offer to take pictures of other side of the curtain but she snatched my phone and took a bunch anyway, and i'm so glad she did, because looking back on it, it was so cool to see her actually coming out.

Get two waist bands and wear it all day as long as you can! I wish I wore my belly bands for my first pregnancy but I learned the second time around!

Brilliant experience here, at hospital at 7am and daughter was born at 10.27 to the song I picked and I met her in 7 minutes! 💜 Very good care and recovery too I'd do it again!

Peppermint tea bags is a definite for afterwards to help with trapped wind. And, extremely large boat like sanitary towels- you will bleed for up to 10 days after surgery.
Super exciting for you and the family! Will be thinking of you ☺️

16 week appointment

This is my third baby and I've just been for my 16 week appointment and it was the most pointless thing ever?
She checked my urine and blood pressure. Spoke about my previous bloods results (which I can already see on badgernotes), reminded me about my 20 week scan (which I can see on badgernotes) and then told me she won't see me again until I'm 28 weeks.

I know this is my third, but why do women who are having their second or third child not get as many appointments as women who are pregnant with their first? Issues can crop up in any pregnancy, no matter how many children you've birthed...anyone else feel the same?

Potential food poisoning?

Hey, im 28 weeks pregnant and last night I was incredibly sick, pretty much every couple of hours. Im not sure if I have a bug or food poisoning? I did have some chow main for lunch from a place in Leeds, then tea was just mash, veg and pork chops but no one else who had that is sick.

Do I need to be checked by a midwife? Its my first pregnancy and im not sure if this means I should be checked over or not, any advice would be appreciated!
