I had an emergency c section in January of 2025 with my first baby boy and am now going to have a scheduled c section with my second baby boy in February of 2027 due to my hospital not doing VBACs. I originally wasn’t worried because I knew it was coming this time and I know what to expect. But now that I’m 6 months pregnant I’m scared again. The recovery was rough for me and now worrying about being there for my 2 year old is causing a lot of mom guilt I think. Any moms out there that have any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated 😅.

Sorry, I have absolutely no advice but I’m the exact same position but opting for an elective due to trauma from the emergency. I feel the guilt already at not being able to pick my little girl up etc etc.

I’m opting for a section with my second after an emergency. I’m hoping that recovery was so painful and rough because it’s not something we were expecting and sometimes very rushed. Perhaps mentally preparing will help maybe ? I had awful aftercare advice and learnt a lot by googling

I had an emergency in 2023 and a planned one in 2026 and the difference is insane! My emergency one was almost as bad as it can get. I was traumatised! But my planned one healed me in ways therapy never could, I had the best recovery ever too. I would do it again for sure

After dealing with an emergency csection, I'd say A scheduled csection is way easier. All you can do is prep ahead of time, for food, childcare, help etc. I made ready meals and had family come for a few weeks to help with my dogs and house. Also get back up help in case people fall through...

I had an emergency in 2023 and due to my daughter being in the NICU I feel like my body recovered right away bc I was so focused on giving my time and energy to her. I'm currently pregnant and choosing to do VBAC but I am really nervous about the trauma that first happened. I suggest birthing class this time. I took one a few weeks ago and I revisited a lot of emotions and trauma I thought I had healed from. I r ally enjoyed the class since it showed me what to expect from active labor to birthing the placenta and even C-section recovers. Ask your hospital if they have a birthing class in person or virtual to offer.

Had an emergency C-section with my little boy in 2024 and elected to go vbac with my second for this exact reason. Little man was born 02/11 two days ago via C-section anyway as my induction failed and it turns out he had his cord wrapped around his neck three times. My second section was way way way less scary than the first as I got time to make the choice though, and the staff were absolutely lovely about it. So far recovery does feel smoother too! Good luck with your section it feels way different when it isn't an emergency honestly everything is much more relaxed even if you're scared you get a lot more breathing room and time to process (also if this comment makes little sense its because I'm still very much off my ass on codeine which absolutely ruins my brain ahaha) xx

I had the same issue, I told my midwife and they quickly got me a therapist
Helped the rest of the way and I was still slightly shaking before and during, I told the person operating on me and the staff about my fear and they made me laugh through it all (still shaking) but it was a much pleasant experience in comparison to the first
Recovery is still a b*tch 😭😭 not much I can help with that sorry xx
It went soooo fast

I have my c section scheduled for tomorrow. I’m scared and excited at the same time. I don’t know if I’m missing anything to do before the operation.

Hello I just found out today that I’m pregnant with twins! I’m so shocked and overwhelmed. I had an ultrasound around 3 weeks ago that showed only 1 yolk sac baby.
For my peace of mind I went to an ultrasound clinic today and not only did I see & hear babies heartbeat but now there’s 2 babies!!!!!!
I’m confused how my doctor missed the second baby, and I think I need to find a new doctor.
I need advice & tips, I’m very excited but also very scared.
This is my first ever pregnancy & I just so happened to get twins 🥺
I did have a dream a few weeks ago about having twins but I didn’t think my dream would come true 😭
