My baby is 10 days old and I’m broken already.

He’s really fussy and screams a lot. Please tell me it gets better? I’ve read some people say by 12 weeks. I don’t think I’ve got 12 weeks in me. I’m seeing the mental health team but I need some reassurance. Just because today has b b bad does it mean tomorrow will be?

I feel for you, my baby was so fussy and I can confirm it gets so much better. He is 4 months now and is nothing like he was at 2 weeks! Hang in there, you can do this!

Ah babe its so hard. I am on No 3 and each has been so hard for the first 12 weeks ish! I PROMISE it gets better. Just try to take each day, is your husband supportive? Do you have friends and family nearby? Maybe try and get out for little walks etc that really helped me!

He’s only 10 days old mommy
He’s adjusting to how the world feel life
It’s all new to him

Do you have any clue why baby is screaming? Maybe it’s trying to tell you something? They can’t talk so they cry and scream. Sometimes all they need is comfort. 10 days old… so little! 🥹 baby is still adjusting

Hang in there! It gets better, you won’t remember these days x

A few things to look for - keep up with bicycle legs to help your LO pass gass. The more you help him throughout the day, the easier should be at night.
All the noises he does during the night are normal because they don't know how to poop yet so he will struggle with that and absolutely get better. You can try the bicycle legs at night too. At this age they sleep quite deep and he might not wake up. And make sure you burp him so he doesn't get any trapped gas. Don't worry too much if he won't burp; some babies are really hard to burp. At this age it is mostly about gas. And unfortunately yes all the way at 12 weeks everything gets better. And honestly this should kinda be the easy part. Wait until he gets the big wake windows and you will struggle to keep him entertained 😆😆
Make sure you don't develop any bad habits you can't keep up with. Ours was rocking to sleep (but he kinda forced us on this) and it's been killing us because he is very heavy.

Is this okay?

Babygirl is 5 months 12 days / 23 weeks, 4 days.
She goes to sleep between 6-7pm, wakes up between 6-7am. She has a 7oz bottle in the morning, then sleeps usually anytime between 8:30/9 for about 30-45 minutes. Then she will have another bottle at some point in the morning, 6oz, then a nap early afternoon 1-1:30pm ish. Then another 6oz. Then she naps sort of 4-5pm and then has a 7oz after her bath before bed. She sometimes has another 6oz in the afternoon if she asks for it. She sleeps through the night so her daytime naps are all over the place.

What do you do??

Ive got mixed opinions so far, so I’m interested to know what you new mums do or would do.

When fuelling up your car / nipping into Tesco express just for a pint of milk, baby is sleeping in the carseat. Do you leave baby in the car for the literal 2 minutes your gone and just ensure car is locked, or get the whole pram / car seat system out and take baby with you?

Naps

We have no structure, or routine with naps now and I keep seeing from 3 months old we should have predictability?! The only nap i know she needs is 9am and its more or less the same every day.
ALSO, this baby will not nap by falling asleep independently, tried many many times. She will NOT settle and gets herself wide awake if I place her down when shes sleepy and try to settle in her cot.
I have to hold her and rock her to sleep, i MAY get away with putting her down once in a deep sleep for a 20min nap but thats it. Whereas if I hold her it would be over 1hr!
Im worried i will have to hold her,/rock her for every nap ever going forward?!
