My Muslim friend in high school told me girls who are on their period didn’t have to while on their period or if you’re pregnant as well. There’s exceptions.

You are not obligated to fast but if you want to, you can always try it and see if you can manage. If you do, make sure to drink lots of water in the evening and to have a good meal and healthy snacks like fruits, nuts etc. xx

I’m catholic and when you are pregnant you don’t have to follow the fasting during lent (and our fasting is just no meat on Fridays). If you want to try and do it, go for it but I would talk to your doctor first.

No you dont fast in Ramadan if your pregnant just like you wouldn't if you were unwell or on your period

Hi sis, you’re not able to fast during Ramadan since you’re pregnant. Please don’t do it. Stay healthy for baby ♥️😘 Ramadan Kareem 🙏

Asalamualaykum, its completely up to you if you want to fast or not during your pregnancy. Allah knows how you feel. Personally I fasted most days but there were days that I felt I couldn't for the baby's sake. You will still have to make up those days you miss.

You can eat at night during Ramadan right?

It can cause issues with your health or the babies. If you wanted to, you could start the fast and closely monitor how you and baby are doing and keep in contact with your dr.

I have been having this debate whether or not i should as well. But i feel like for the health of the baby im not going to fast. Your not always pregnant and you can always make up the days after ❤ allah swt is all merciful and all forgiving and he knows what your intention is - stay safe and ramadan kareem ❤❤❤

You don’t have to fast during Ramadan while pregnant. My moms a religious person and she also confirmed this. Keep that baby growing and healthy 😘 god is great

I don’t know about Ramadan specifically but I know in Judaism pregnant woman are exempt from fasting holidays specifically because the health of the baby & mother take priority. It may be worth looking into if Ramadan has a similar exemption

I’m not Muslim, but fasting is a big part of my religion. When I’m pregnant I choose something else to fast from, something that for me is a sacrifice. It might be social media, or sweets, or tv, or something like that. I don’t know if these kind of “substitutes” are acceptable, but that’s what I do. If I don’t eat while pregnant I get very weak and sick. Think of your baby and maybe ask God what He feels is the right sacrifice.

Salaam! I’m pregnant with my third baby and I’ve never fasted - especially when I was in my second trimester on - but this time in my first trimester I’m doing every few days. Make sure you hydrate really well if you are up for it!

Maternity allowance

Hi guys! So I am currently on maternity leave with my boy and pregnant again, my maternity leave is almost over (I took the full 52 weeks off) so I am due back work soon! I have just had an email saying I’m not eligible for statuary maternity pay again and they are sending me a form to apply for maternity allowance! I would only be back at work for approx 6-8 weeks before going on maternity again! So I thought I would use my holidays instead of actually going back but the manager has actually refused them. What I’m wondering is, if I was to hand in my notice, would I still technically be eligible for maternity allowance and get the full amount or would it be the £27 a week? Because if I did do that, then they would obviously still have to pay me my holidays that I’m entitled to?

Change of religion when married.. advice please!

Hi all, my husband has very recently and out of the blue turned to Christianity (we were atheist). I’ve been super supportive, we’re speaking a lot about it, I’m reading the bible to understand. To be clear I don’t have an issue with it at all (I went to a Christian school, just wouldn’t say I’ve found Jesus myself 🤷🏼‍♀️).
I just wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation? What if I can’t come to the same conclusion and we end up not being of the same religion?

Really hoping someone’s gone through similar and may give me an idea of how it turned out please 🙏

Extending maternity leave beyond a year

I’m due to go back to work in June and my baby to nursery after a year off (I work in the nursery she’ll be attending).I can’t claim funding for her until September so considering now staying off with her until then.

Does anyone know how this works? Am I entitled to just tell them I’m doing this or is it something that can be refused now my maternity leave and 52 weeks leave entitlement is up?

What’s a cheap little gift you could buy for anyone. The only thing I could think of is a scratch off lottery. What else is there?

I’ll take any ideas?
