Hello ladies! So I'm currently making my Pinterest mood board with nursery ideas and wondered if anyone had any tips or hints when it comes to planning/buying for your nursery? We don't have a massive budget so does anyone know of good quality furniture that's not as crazy expensive? 💚

This looks lovely! 😍 I’ve been buying bits every month to spread the cost before maternity leave, a lot of online baby stores offer a discount for signing up etc so I spend ages hunting down the best deals, all the savings soon add up x

Ah thank you! Yeah I found a cot I love in IKEA (might be the same one sounding by the cost!). Can't wait for shops to open so I can go round and have a look in their showrooms 🤞🏻 I'll check out the insta hacks, thanks!

Trendybaby website or online4baby website do reasonable nursery furniture sets!
We where the same, tried to keep costs down as much as possible as my fiance has been out of work for nearly a year now.
We have a next to me cot so baby will be with us for the first few months anyway so we weren't in a crazy rush to do a full on nursery.
But then family and friends started telling us not to get anything as they want to get us bits and to hold off.
Family members kindly gave us money to contribute towards the nursery furniture for our "baby shower" which helped out massively we was able to get the furniture we loved!
We had our surprise baby shower (all virtual 🙈) and we pretty much got everything we needed! Was super lucky.
My friends who have kids have always said wait for baby shower as you will be surprised about what you get.
You could always ask for contributions if Family/friends ask? Even if it's small contributions everything always helps towards? Xx

I definitely have a look at those websites, thank you!
I completly forgot about people buying stuff for the baby shower. Even if you ask friends not to, you know they will still!
Yeah my other half keeps saying to wait so maybe I should listen to him more, I just get too excited 😂🙈

Yeah check them out!
I know I was the same, I just wanted to get everything straight away 🙈🤣 but kept getting told off and to wait by my mum and my fiancé's mum lol.
I never expected anything from anyone, but friends and family get excited too, so if they ever ask you can always kindly ask for a small contribution to help out with the furniture if there is a specific set you like!
My friends who have kids have always said to me never over buy because you will always get loads from family and friends. Lol and they even say to wait. 🙈 xx

IKEA, Etsy, thrift stores and AliExpress (always read reviews first and don’t trust all 5 stars look at stuff with 4 stars), and Amazon!

Don’t be afraid to buy some things second hand. Especially things that are in good condition and can be easily cleaned/disinfected 😀 we got our cotbed and changing table/chest of drawers for £130 and it’s exactly what we wanted and great condition. Just got a brand new mattress 👍🏻

Love those baskets!!

I brought a cot and changing table second hand off facebook market place, wardrobe and draws from ikea they are amazing

Definitely go second hand. I got a mamas and papas set off Facebook marketplace. Cotbed, wardrobe and drawers/ changing table for £100!! I had been keeping an eye on them for weeks and finally saw a great set when I was 27 weeks. Googled “man with van” and had them picked up and delivered within a day! Just bought a new mattress from IKEA.

Ah thank you so much ladies! I hadn't considered FB market place as I don't have Facebook but might have to download to have a look!

Upcycle! We’ve bought everything for ours second hand and repainted and sanded it as needed and made it how we wanted it! I would post a pic but there’s baby clothes everywhere at the minute, but weve doesn’t less than £100 on furniture and have a big changing table, a cot bed, a big chest of drawers, a canopy for above the cot, a bookshelf as tall as the ceiling...! It’s all solid pine and all matches since we decorated it how we wanted it 🙂🙂🙂🙂

I’ve got that set of baskets in my bathrooom they were £30 or £40 from home sense if you can wait until they reopen 🙂👍🏼

The £40 cot from IKEA is amazing!! So easy to build, and so sturdy (my fat ass hasnt broken it when i have had to climb in and out to my LO 😂)
It can also be left natural or painted any colour to match the nursery
My mattress was 30 ish quid from argos and it is perfect 🙈
Facebook marketplace, Freecycle pages on facebook, also gumtree and ebay are fab for secondhand furniture and bedding cheap/free and you can upcycle them or find ones that match your aesthetic x

Definitely look up ikea furniture hacks. So many inexpensive ways to make your ikea furniture look more expensive than it is!

My cotbed was from wayfair and his changing mats, got some boxes as well for his clothes all for 200, bed was about 150 with free delivery xx

This is so adorable 🥰

You could have a look at upcycling a piece of second hand furniture. There’s a Facebook group called ‘The Frenchic Fan Forum’ and its full of pictures of how people have used Frenchic paint to upcyle, some great ideas there

If you want new ikea all the way. But stay away from drawers. I noticed anything with drawers sucks... either that or user error lol. I’d probably get a nicer dressser just from what I’ve seen. However all of my babies furniture was used and in awesome shape. I don’t think I’d bother with a changing table. Actually I’m kind mad at myself because I had a pack and play with a bassinet and Changing table I never used! But I’d just put the changing pad on his dresser (he had a lower one) but usually we do it on the floor or couch to be honest.

There’s so many online apps!!
Mercari
Offer up
Look thrift shops
Our nursery dresser and night stand are old pieces we’re just repainting! But I found printable online I’m going to frame for nursery decor ☺️

try overstock .com

Gum tree and then upcycle the stuff. I got an IKEA dresser for 15 pound and I sanded and painted it white and changed the handles looks lovely

Facebook marketplace has been a godsend. It's been amazing for some bargains that are particularly brand new 👌

Facebook market place!! All the way.

Second hand furniture for sure. Any long chest of drawers you like could work as a nappy change area, just buy a new change mat for like $5. And with plants, maybe don’t bother at first. I recommend block out blinds and babies sleep so much it’ll be a pain having to open up the curtain all the time for the plants lol.

We got a lot from fb marketplace and hobby lobby

You won't need the things many think you need. Save money.

Anything so you don't have to bend over or leave the change table.
We used an old cupboard on wheels for my first and by the 3rd it's as they lay. If I can get them to lay down I'll change them

IKEA for book shelves, so easy to assemble and mount and save space from the floor

Ikea do a gorgeous wooden crib for 40 pound that we have brought ! Ikea curtain rods and curtains are very good price too!

Buy a dresser instead of a changing table. Put a changing pad on top. I agree with looking at Facebook marketplace & thrift stores. I like wooden crates because they are modular. You can put canvas bins in them, stack them to make a bookshelf, use them as an end table. So much versatility and affordable.

Ikea wooden crib is $99 and has the boho chic vibe thats all over pinterest without dropping $500 ! Also try joining mommy fb groups and just asking around for the things youre looking- there are so many moms who are looking to unload baby gear and nursery decor for a good price!

For wardrobe I just got a nice white one and added an extra poll in x

I would buy a blackout blind for window

I recently renovated my son's nursery in a neutral boho style. I found a Pinterest post where they sourced all the items. We spent about $3K on everything including the paint job. I can share the link with you if you are interested.

I made my own bookshelves and storage things from milk crates. I stained them to match the crib. I also surprisingly got a lot of cute stuff from Wish!

Facebook market place! You can find great deals we got my daughters crib for $70 and it’s a $250 crib

Facebook marketplace for sure! We got our crib and bassinet so far and both are in very good condition!

Repurposed an old dresser and it was a fun DIY project for my partner and I to do together before LOs arrival. Turned out really cute too!

We got all our furniture from facebook marketplace bar our nappy unit (argos cheap as chips) and then just spiced the place up by decoration

Shop around for furniture, just go with simple. 2nd time around I went with a very simple crib and dresser.

I must have looked at every known furniture shop online, and surprisingly the cribs and drawers that I like the most are ikea! I want a nice comfy rocking chair for feeds, kiddies kingdom and wayfair seem to have the best ones value wise. Big fan of shelves at the moment and they are very cheap, so will try to keep to that storage wise, and find a chest of drawers so it’s the right height to use as changing table. Kinda holding out for shops to open so I can see some of it

IKEA for sure they have a crib under 80$ and you can paint or stain it if you want dresser are cheap under 150 and even changing baskets but you should shop around as well Facebookmarketplace for sure!

Beautiful be sure to nail your dresser to the wall hun. As your child grows they will try to get on top. ITS a beautiful area ;) God bless you dear ♥

I was able to get a lot of stuff from my neighborhood Buy Nothing group. It's a great way to save money and meet neighbors. Especially when they grow so fast it's nice to get hand-me-downs. One of the best things we did was get a long dresser (Ikea Hemnes 8 drawer) and use that as a changing table instead of getting a separate changing table that will only be used for short amount of time and usually doesn't have much storage.

8 kids and we've never had or needed a nursery. It's much easier to keep them in with us. But for furniture in general I'm a big fan of used :-)

I'm definitely doing second hand, and have been going to Facebook market place. We have found alot of decent furniture for the low low and with a new paint job it will be like new..

soo cute love all the pics, im doing a $500 giveaway follow my instagram abigail and javis also my youtube channels Abigail and Javis, It’s Abigail R

I purchased the crib in Burlington. They had good prices for cribs and changing tables made out of actual wood, not pressed wood like IKEA.
The changing table is what I use the most from his room.
Drawers are very important but you can hide them in the closet if it's big enough so you can get creative with that and make something affordable.
If you get a crib second hand, make sure it's in good condition, but overall, it's a good idea to do so. Your little one won't use it for long. Before you know it, it'll be time for a big kid bed.

I love your nursery!!
