Any second time moms that did vaginal birth that can share their experience? My partner and I are very sexually active and I happen to really like the way my vagina looks š© seems so vain but itās the truth. Iām planning on a vaginal birth now for my first child in July... I guess Iām just asking do you usually end up looking different after youāve given birth vaginally? Not really worried about the feel but the looks specifically!

Had my 1st baby 5 month ago, almost 9 lbs. No change in look.

I've always heard horror stories of people looking at their vaginas after giving birth and they said to resist the temptation to look but I looked after a week and the hole just looked a bit bigger (but felt tighter because I has stitches) and that's itš¤·āāļø after I healed it just looks like it used to

All goes back to normal I had 2 vaginal births

I wanna say after the first one it goes back to normal. But after my 2nd my husband told me himself it's not the same. Not being an asswhole. I asked him personally. I've now had a total of 3 babies and I feel like it's change. Have I physically looked in the mirror down there? No. But I can feel it a little.

At 35 to 36 weeks of pregnancy you can start a perineal massage, you can literally avoid the tearing, and the kegel exercise after giving birth it helps a lot

I've had 3 vaginal births in just over 3 years but no tearing or stitches, it looks the same but my pelvic floor is definitely weaker despite me doing all the exercises x

I had A LOT of stitches and to be honest itās tighter than before I had my baby now. I recommend massages and pelvic floor exercises before too if you can

After I gave birth I felt like my lips and the area yiu usually have hair were hugely swollen, they were somewhat but not nearly as much as I thought they were. Everything is back to normal now, I did have a very minor tear at the bottom between the vagina and rectum but it doesn't look any different now then it used to.

Ive just asked my partner if it looks the same and he has said yes. I've never looked at it so wouldn't know lol xxx

My vagina looks the exact same lol I only had one stitch after giving birth

No tear at all and doesnāt look any different x

Three vaginal deliveries, no changes in appearance or tightness after the healing period.

I had an atypical tear on the one of my labias.. unfortunately the sutures didnāt hold well and i had to go in again to try to fix it but they werenāt able to numb all of the area because i tore close to my clitoris... unfortunately my vagina doesnāt look the same post vaginal delivery, but mind u im in the 5/10% group of this type of tear... most get a perianal tear which heals without incident. I donāt mind it much because honestly Iām never staring at my vagina and my husband doesnāt mind at all or really notice it. Silver lining i can tell my daughter āmy vagina never looked the same because of you soo recognize the sacrificeā haha jk wouldnāt want to traumatize her. š

My vagina wasn't the same right away. Within afew weeks all was good I gave birth too twins one of which had his leg around his shoulders.
I will tell you this much c sections suck so much. Your muscles won't ever be the same if you don't do the right things. I've sadly had to have 3 C's. I'm expecting baby 6 and need another one. I'd do vaginal birth every single time if I could.

i just had my 3rd baby almost 5months ago and have never really been comfortable with my body but my bf says he didnt noticed any gap or different look...if anything he loves my parts even more for giving him our children

No. It doesnāt. Goes right back to normal.

It looks just fine after 1 year postpartum and my husband said that feels the same.

Um my vagina is the same. Lol

I've had 2 kids and 2 second degree tears. No change in appearance, just make sure you do your pelvic floor excercise to avoid any unwanted weakness

Vagina are meant to stretch and give birth, they are damn amazing! Yep, all will look the same!ļæ¼

tearing doesnāt have to happen or this intense... look into evidencebasedbirth.com listen to all the podcasts. Vaginas are meant to scretch.
Birth is meant to be done how the birthing person chooses not by choice of the provider. Today itās still so common to give birth on your back while be instructed to hold your breath for 10counts and push as hard as you can. This isnāt how birth should go if mama and baby are doing well! Birth should happen with mamas instincts instead and feel what her body is telling her to do.
I am a birth doula and I always like to compare pushing a baby to pushing out a poop...funny but so closely related! No one has to tell you how to poop...your body just knows how! Same with mama and baby! You will know!! Did you know people in coma can give birth? Yep!!!
Ok so back to this idea of listening to your body to prevent tearing...letās say you were going to do the splits. You wouldnāt hold your breathe and push as hard as you could! Because you would tear!

Lol it cut my off.....too many words.
But instead doing the splits you would slowly easy into it, you would feel a burning stretch then you would stop to rest, once that burning stretch was gone you again would push into the splits deeper.
This idea of slowly going into the splits so you donāt tear is the same with pushing out baby! You body feels sensations to tell you to slow down. If you do want an epidural you can request a light one so you can still feel a bit of stretching sensation so you know when to slow down. You can also talk with you provider to see if they can help with allowing babyās head to rest while crowing to give your vagina a nice big stretch to decrease your risk of tearing ā¤ļø

I don't think so. The only thing I have is a very thin scar from where I tore but otherwise looks the same from what I can tell

It looks a teeny bit different if you tore or got an episiotomy and got stitched up. But not enough to really notice.

Some woman are lucky and everything does return back to normal but unfortunately for a lot of woman that isnāt the case. I along with plenty of other Mums I know canāt say things are the same. I think itās important you hear that and donāt feel down on yourself if things are different after birth. Woman canāt make the statement āeverything turns back to normalā because thatās just not true for so many woman

Oh gosh where do I begin haha. Forceps and episiotomy left everything looking extremely different. I just wish more woman were honest when I was pregnant so I didnāt feel so confused when I didnāt return back to normal. I had a friend who had a fourth degree tear and she says the same. Fingers crossed you have a good birth but if you donāt you def arenāt alone

So im a first time mum and i really hated the way my vagina looked pre-birth and was super paranoid it was going to make it worse but if anything its made it look so much better! I had a vaginal birth with forceps (although i didn't know what they were before i had it done and regret it massively) and had a cut but the scar is basically gone and i still look very neat and tidy but everyones body is different and remember that we come in all shapes and sizes! X

I can only speak from personal experiences, my vagina looks mostly the same post vaginal birth . I had 3 vaginal births 4 1/2 years apart with no tears, just normal stretching that went back to normal afterwards. Kegals and remaining active during pregnancy may have contributed. Wishing you the best with your future delivery ā”

You vagi will definitely snap back!

It goes back to normal just after you have a baby you wonāt have desire to do anything sexual for like a month

Mine looks the same. I luckily had very minimal tearing. Honestly itās a hard pull to swallow, your body will change in some ways. You will change in many ways, just not physically. Try to be gentle with yourself. But, how my vagina recovered was one of the things I was pleasantly surprised about.

There are pelvic floor stretches that you can start now that will help you prepare for birth and get back to where you were before birth. There are free videos on youtube about it

I tore, was stitched up, after healing was tighter than originally š. Can't tell where stitches were. Just gotta follow doctor's instructions for after care. #dermoplast life saver

Hi, I really understand you, I had the same thoughts, what I did is take care a lot of my pelvic floor, SUPER IMPORTANT!! not only for the Sex ( which is important) also for your urine system ( prevent loss ) and a lot of important points ... I really encourage to research about pelvic floor, practice some exercise to help to recover it, What I did... I book an appointment with specialist ( pelvic floor ) after birth, she explored how I am and what I need to do, every woman is different and needs different treatment and exercises, I am full recover, and also my diastase improve crazy, really help to recover after birth

I've had two natural births, my now 1 year old was 10.3 (I'm petit) and tore me wide open. Two tears. One first degree the other third degree š my midwives took great care of me sewing me up (they better have as I was laying there for an hour with them needle and threading) and I look the exact same as I did before I had children. I've heard about massaging vagina with oil during pregnancy can help with reducing tears but I don't know the validity of this and did not try it myself. Good luck š

I also like how I looked and was kinda scared of the same thing. I had 9 pound 1 ounce boy. And 100% look the same. all my friends say the same for themselves. you have to realize....our bodies are MEANT to do this. they literally stretch 10 CM and go back. The vagina is an amazing thing.

I had a c section with my first and a vbac with my second. Absolutely nothing changed with my vagina after my vbac. I will say c sections suck though. Being able to walk around and do basic things without pain took 4 weeks for me with the c section. With my vbac i was up and walking around with only a little discomfort about 10 minutes after they gave me stitches. I could lift things no problem. I got about 15 stitches and my vagina has no change to it so I wouldnāt worry about that.

You do for a bit but then it goes back to normal and hope your sex drive comes back im 3 years pp and still no sex drive.

My vagina didnāt change at all lol

After a while it goes back to normal and my experience i was tighter
