Pumping colostrum to induce labor

Has anyone else tried collecting colostrum to try and induce labor?

39+1 and gave it a go this afternoon and I think I leaked a little bit but not enough to collect anything from the bottle. Going to try again later after a shower, maybe the heat will help

Hi I'm looking to start this too, also 39+1 and also feel pretty clueless! Apparently there are videos on YouTube to help.

I started hand expressing last week at 38w and watched a few YouTube videos to get me going. Be prepared to get the tiniest amount to start with, I'm still not getting much but I try to do it twice a day. I have had a few twinges/cramps whilst doing it but it hasn't been more than that šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

I’ve just started and I get a little bit (1ml first time, 5mls 2 days later). First time I did it I was syringing it straight from my nipple and then I saw someone saying to collect on a spoon… much to my partners horror šŸ˜‚

I don’t think this was barely 1mlšŸ˜… was literally a few drops round my nipple

I have over 20ml of collostrum now but I’m doing it still for this reason šŸ˜‚ worth a shot!

Oh hang on. I meant 0.1ml and then 0.5ml ! Nowhere near what I said šŸ˜‚

ohšŸ˜‚ I was gonna say wow that’s amazing for say day 1

So I’ve been doing 5mins a day each boob, and still no baby been doing it about a week!! I have started getting about 1ml per boob the past few days I think it’s technique you kind of want to mimic a baby and I express into a clean shot glass! Husband thinks it’s hilarious xx

I hand expressed todsy at 37wk for the first time and filled the syringe.

So little update: day 2 and I’ve done 10mins on each side and got a total of 0.25ml. I’m pretty happy with that for day 2. Just hoping that along with some mild period cramps will help bring on laboršŸ¤žšŸ»

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

Bottle refusal

EBF and deciding I want a bit more flexibility so wanted to introduce a bottle so I can go out more.

She used to take one three months ago. Now she flat out refuses and cries - doesn’t matter if it’s expressed breastmilk or formula. Tried it in a sippy cup as well. What can I do?

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ā€˜girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts
