Has anyone else tried collecting colostrum to try and induce labor?
39+1 and gave it a go this afternoon and I think I leaked a little bit but not enough to collect anything from the bottle. Going to try again later after a shower, maybe the heat will help

Hi I'm looking to start this too, also 39+1 and also feel pretty clueless! Apparently there are videos on YouTube to help.

I started hand expressing last week at 38w and watched a few YouTube videos to get me going. Be prepared to get the tiniest amount to start with, I'm still not getting much but I try to do it twice a day. I have had a few twinges/cramps whilst doing it but it hasn't been more than that š¤·š½āāļø

Iāve just started and I get a little bit (1ml first time, 5mls 2 days later). First time I did it I was syringing it straight from my nipple and then I saw someone saying to collect on a spoon⦠much to my partners horror š

I donāt think this was barely 1mlš was literally a few drops round my nipple

I have over 20ml of collostrum now but Iām doing it still for this reason š worth a shot!

Oh hang on. I meant 0.1ml and then 0.5ml ! Nowhere near what I said š

ohš I was gonna say wow thatās amazing for say day 1

So Iāve been doing 5mins a day each boob, and still no baby been doing it about a week!! I have started getting about 1ml per boob the past few days I think itās technique you kind of want to mimic a baby and I express into a clean shot glass! Husband thinks itās hilarious xx

I hand expressed todsy at 37wk for the first time and filled the syringe.

So little update: day 2 and Iāve done 10mins on each side and got a total of 0.25ml. Iām pretty happy with that for day 2. Just hoping that along with some mild period cramps will help bring on laborš¤š»
