Sunbed after c section?

Have any ladies on here been on a sunbed only 3 weeks post section? I don’t want to sound shallow but I’ve felt so rubbish in myself and body & know it would make me feel so much better. My scars healing really well & I would of course go on with knickers covering the scar.

I mean, I don’t see why not except maybe getting in and out of the high flat bed. Maybe a stand up?

I would be careful. Scars can be much more sensitive to the sun and it could leave them looking ugly. Sunscreen will work in the future but I wouldn't put it on at 3 weeks pp. Maybe if you can cover the area?

Wait, I didn't read the whole thing. I would think that would be fine

I’ve not asked the specific question on c sections, but when I had my boobs done, the surgeon told me very clearly to keep my scars out of the sun for at least a year, as it will affect their appearance as they heal and they’ll be more prominent. I still went on sun beds etc, I just covered the scars specifically. Sounds like your plan!

I feel like a lot of us have been discussing this for a while so I’ve pieced together what we’ve all said (water birth, c section mamas might need more). Other 2 x screenshots in the comments. If anyone spots anything missing feel free to add below ⬇️

Birth options

Hello! I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am finally able to start thinking about my birth now! I am so 50/50 between natural and c-section.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

What type of birth did you have Andrew you happy you chose it?

Or what type of birth are you looking to have?

Thank you so much Xxx

Royal London Hospital maternity Triage

Has anyone had any experience at the RLH maternity triage (6th floor) and if so, what was your experience like?

On two occassions I have been there regarding concerns with my health during this pregnancy and have had an unpleasent experience from the staff on the front desk, seems to be always one in particular where they have been dismissive with the sort of attitude like "why are you here" "we can't help you with that here" It's made me anxious about having to ever go there again, if need be. 🫤
