Sex and labor

Did sex help send y’all to labor? I’m just curious of those who had good experiences with having sex then going into labor! I’m 2cm dilated and 70% effaced so I’m willing to try anything even though I know it’ll be uncomfortable for me! 37 weeks pregnant and just impatient at this point. Lol.

I’m 37 weeks also and just tried it yesterday. Was not fun 😂 but I did have a few contractions about it 2 hours after. I took a nap though and they went away :/

I’m 39 weeks and so ready to be done 😂

Are you dilated or effaced any? That’s what I’m worried about is that it’s gonna hurt so bad. 🤣

oh girl, I bet you are!

39 weeks and I swear it’s the only thing that’s helped me progress. Coincidence? Possibly. I’m willing to do anything to get her out 😂

I haven’t really had any Braxton hicks or contractions or anything, I have a lot of pelvic pain from how baby is and I’ve been feeling nauseous which I hear is a sign but nothing has really happened yet

Avatar

what are you dilated and effaced too? I’ve been trying other things before having sex but I think that’s what I’m gonna have to do if I want this baby quick! 🤣

Avatar

lol, yes! I was 1cm dilated and 50 percent effaced at 36 & 37 weeks. 38 weeks I was 1.5 and 60 percent effaced, then at my 39 week appointment I was 3cm dilated and 70 percent effaced. I have my 40 week appointment next week so we will see lol.

looks like I need to get the show on the road then! Lol. I’m 37 weeks so maybe I can have her here before my induction date on the 28th! 🤣

I tired it at 39 weeks and it was the worst pain after.. I had contractions for about and hour after and i didn’t even go into labor

We literally had sex daily from 37 weeks to the day before my induction. Ended up still getting induced at 39 and 5 but it went really well and overall was a fairly quick induction.

Avatar

I’m 1.5 cm dilated as of 36 weeks but wasn’t checked at my 37 week :/

Yes sex helped…(was not trying to self induce lol).My water broke like 3-4 hours after intercourse at 38.5weeks and from that point till delivery it was a total of 10 hours.

Hospital Bag?

Hey everyone! When is the right time to pack your hospital bag and what on earth do I need? I see so many different websites and advice on social media that it all gets very overwhelming. Thank you so much for any help.

Heart murmur

Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Burnout

I have the odd day (like today) where I feel completely wiped out, without energy, physical especially, even if I had we good night sleep. I try entertaining baby as much as I normally do but it's a lot! Don't know if it's burnout or what.. will mention to gp in case I have some deficiency but again it's not everyday. Baby is only 4 months, am I too old?? And we'd like another at some point 🙈 don't know how mums of multiples do it

First time leaving the house with newborn

Has anybody managed to step outside since the baby arrived? We were considering starting super local, 10 min by car to somewhere where we can go on a pram walk or cafe. But we were wondering if this is safe, given the baby has no vaccines yet. What’s everyone doing?
