Emotional

My daughter has never been a talker she has probably around 20 words but won’t use them in context. Only grunts. and the last few days she has been simply angry at home. She is fine at daycare happy at daycare. When she is home from the second she wakes up she is mad until she goes to sleep. I am struggling to figure out her needs and what she wants. She has been doing so good for the last month that I honestly got too lucky and now I’m at a loss.

To try and understand her wants I bring her to areas she’s looking and pointing at and let her pick out what she’s wanting. This sometimes works other times it’s like she doesn’t even know what she wants.

I try and keep her belly full. She gets hangry.

Otherwise the only time she’s content is when I put on I am groot. I don’t like her watching a lot of tv I know at daycare she watches a good portion of ms Rachel.

Anyone have tips on trying to understand your nonverbal 18 month old.

Has anything drastic happened or a big change ?

the only thing different is I changed her toothbrush. No big life events. She’s not teething

My 3 year old went through this same thing. My 18 month old is to a degree, but my 3 year old was more like you're describing. He's now very articulate for his age. It was extremely frustrating for us (especially given that I was finishing up the first trimester with my now 18 month old). All we did was exactly what you're doing. We took him where he was gesturing and we spoke out loud to him sort of narrating everything we did all day, every option we gave him, every thing we did. It suddenly clicked one day and he has not stopped talking since 😂 it gets better, this is just a rough phase that typically comes just before true speaking (provided that your child is typically developing, that is).

I know my son is 1 and he is very sensitive to change even little things like if his daily routine doesn’t stay in line but good luck momma 🦋‼️ hope things improve

that’s what I was wondering is happening. She said bye guys and here lily yesterday. I feel like she has some major talking milestone brewing and is wanting to say something but can’t figure out how. I’m trying to be patient

taking it one day at a time!

@Gabrielle it's ROUGH but it will be worth it in the end! Just keep using as much correct language with her as you can and it will click. You're right, she does have a major milestone brewing!!

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
